Amalia Williamson

Amalia Williamson was born and raised in Oakville, Ontario, and began participating in local theatre productions there. She trained at Armstrong Acting Studios and studied film and television at Sheridan College, where she developed skills in writing and directing.

At 15, Williamson appeared in a commercial for a clothing line associated with Miley Cyrus and Max Azria at Walmart. She later signed with Ambition Talent, which led to her early screen roles.

Williamson began her acting career in the short film Punctual Condolence in 2015. She followed it with appearances in short films and made her feature-film debut as Rita in the 2018 Canadian thriller Level 16. Her early television work included Emily in Playing Dead and Chelsea in Bajillionaires.

Her subsequent credits include Blair in Glass Houses, Janie Wade in Remember Me, Mommy?, Melody Miller in The Kid Detective, and roles in Private Eyes, Frankie Drake Mysteries, Children Ruin Everything, Bria Mack Gets a Life, and Letterkenny. She has also appeared as Lola Gunderson in Sullivan's Crossing and Hayley Ellis in My Sister's Double Life.

Williamson's role as Madelyn "Maddie" West in the CBC and Netflix family drama Northern Rescue became her first prime-time lead role. Maddie is a 16-year-old dealing with the death of her mother, family secrets, and a move from city life to a small northern town.

Williamson starred in the series alongside William Baldwin, Kathleen Robertson, and Spencer MacPherson. Her own experience as the oldest of four siblings helped her connect with Maddie's responsibility toward her younger brother and sister.

In addition to acting, Williamson has directed several short films, including Blue Light, Daughter, Modern Day Magick, Rosie, Love Not Lost, I Am Here, and The Truth Fairy. Her work behind the camera also includes writing credits for Daughter, A Voice for Change: The Laura Hillier Story, Rosie, Love Not Lost, and The Truth Fairy.

Williamson produced the 2020 short film I Am Here, which follows a brother and sister separated during the Syrian Civil War. She also received producer credits for Love Not Lost, Rosie, Other Side, and Keeper.

Williamson is set to appear as Andrea Walker in the six-episode mystery series You're Killing Me. The series features Brooke Shields and Tom Cavanagh alongside Williamson.
