Anna Hall

Hall comes from an athletic family in Colorado. Her father, David, competed in football, basketball, and the decathlon at the University of Michigan. Her older sisters Kathryn and Julia both competed in collegiate sports for Michigan, playing tennis and running track respectively. Julia later joined Anna on the Georgia track squad for a season as a graduate student. Her younger sister is Lauryn.

She began dating New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton in November 2024. The couple announced their engagement a year later. They married on April 11, 2026, at Oheka Castle on Long Island, New York. Outside competition, Hall completed her bachelor of arts degree in business administration at the University of Florida in December 2023.

Hall began her collegiate career at the University of Georgia under combined events coach Petros Kyprianou. She earned All-America honors across indoor pentathlon and high jump. At the delayed U.S. Olympic trials in June 2021, she was injured. She hit the eighth barrier during her 100-meter hurdles heat and broke the navicular bone in her left foot. The injury required surgery to insert a screw, keeping her off her feet until October.

Following a coaching transition at Georgia, Hall transferred to the University of Florida to train with Mike Holloway. A strong 2022 season followed. She won the NCAA indoor pentathlon title, helping Florida take its first women's indoor team championship in three decades. Outdoors, she broke Jackie Joyner-Kersee's 39-year-old collegiate heptathlon record with 6,412 points at the Texas Relays. She won the NCAA heptathlon title, placed second in the 400-meter hurdles twenty minutes after running the 800 meters, and earned USTFCCCA National Field Athlete of the Year honors.

Hall turned professional in August 2022 by signing with Adidas. Weeks earlier, she had taken bronze in the heptathlon at the World Championships in Eugene, Oregon. In February 2023, she broke the North American pentathlon record in Albuquerque with 5,004 points. That mark made her the third woman in history to cross the 5,000-point barrier indoors. Later that year, she earned heptathlon silver at the World Championships in Budapest.

Injuries disrupted her lead-up to the 2024 Paris Olympics. She underwent knee surgery in January 2024, returned to win the U.S. trials, and placed fifth at the Games. In 2025, Hall set further records. She scored 7,032 points at the Hypo-Meeting in Gotzis to tie Carolina Kluft for second on the world all-time list, setting a world heptathlon best in the 800 meters with a time of 2:01.23. At the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo, Hall won gold with 6,888 points, becoming the first American woman since Joyner-Kersee in 1993 to win the world heptathlon title.
