Cooke Maroney

Maroney met actress Jennifer Lawrence in May 2018 after being introduced by their mutual friend Laura Simpson. The couple began dating shortly afterward and announced their engagement in February 2019. They married on October 19, 2019, in a ceremony held at the Belcourt of Newport mansion in Newport, Rhode Island, attended by approximately 150 guests, including Emma Stone, Ashley Olsen, Kris Jenner, Adele, and Amy Schumer.

The couple welcomed their first child, a son named Cy, in February 2022, and had a second child in early 2025. They maintain residences in both Manhattan's West Village and Bel Air in Los Angeles, keeping their home and family life largely out of the public spotlight.

Maroney was born in Vermont to Suki Fredericks and James Maroney, an art dealer who previously worked as the head of American paintings at Christie's auction house. His parents relocated to Leicester, Vermont, to seek a rural lifestyle, establishing Oliver Hill Farm on several hundred acres of land, where they raised animals and later operated a bed and breakfast. Maroney grew up alongside a younger sister, Annabelle.

After attending Middlebury Union High School in Vermont, Maroney moved to New York City to pursue higher education. He enrolled at New York University, where he studied art history and graduated with a bachelor's degree in 2007.

Following his graduation from New York University, Maroney began working in the commercial art market. He initially joined the Gagosian Gallery network in Manhattan, which exhibits modern and contemporary art across multiple international locations.

He later became the director-at-large of Gladstone 64, the Upper East Side space operated by Gladstone Gallery in New York City. In his role as director, Maroney represented and worked with high-profile contemporary artists, including painter Carroll Dunham, sculptor Matthew Barney, Richard Prince, and Anish Kapoor, before stepping down in 2025 to pursue independent art projects.
