Danny Go

Daniel Coleman grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina, and developed an interest in music and performance at an early age. In high school, he and childhood friends formed the garage band Campbell the Band, in which Coleman played drums and took part in small tours.

Coleman studied marketing at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and married Mindy Coleman in 2009. Before becoming a full-time children's entertainer, he worked at Lowe's, where his responsibilities and interests included marketing, video production, content strategy, YouTube metrics, and influencer collaboration.

Coleman's transition into online video began at Lowe's. In 2017, Jonathan Stanley gave him a camera, access to an editing course, and time to experiment with video production. Coleman created The Wall, a Lowe's YouTube series about making accent walls, which introduced the upbeat presentation style later associated with Danny Go!.

In 2019, Coleman reunited with Campbell the Band members Matthew Padgett and Michael Finster to create children's content. The trio initially considered a broader educational adventure format inspired in part by Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, but songs and dance videos soon became the center of the project. Early successes included The Playground Song, which surpassed 10 million views, and The Floor Is Lava, which received more than 150 million views.

Danny Go! is a live-action educational children's show designed around music, movement, and silliness. Its videos cover kindergarten-level subjects such as basic mathematics, vocabulary, rhythm patterns, and science, while also presenting lessons about friendship, kindness, perseverance, respect, courage, and confidence.

The show's dance-along format encourages children to leave their seats and participate physically. The Wiggle Dance produced a major surge in attention in 2022, after which the team released a new dance video and original song roughly every two weeks for two years. Teachers also adopted the videos as movement-based classroom breaks, helping the channel reach children during the school day.

Danny Go! began in Coleman's garage, where a small team used a blue screen and simple equipment to create imaginative settings. The production later expanded into a converted horse barn in North Carolina, with recording equipment, musical instruments, costumes, and space for filming.

Coleman leads the project as Danny Go, an energetic character who enjoys music, dance, imagination, and exploring the world. Matthew Padgett plays Pap Pap, a scientist who invents and experiments, while Michael Finster performs as Bearhead, Pap Pap's silly scientist-in-training. Coleman's wife, Mindy Coleman, appears as Mindy Mango, a farmer with an interest in healthy foods who brings a calmer presence to the show. Dominic Geralds, a touring drummer and former Campbell the Band member, also appears in the videos as Gerald.

The team eventually left their day jobs and began working on Danny Go! full time. They toured in 2024 and played more than 70 live shows, most of them sold out across North America. The franchise also expanded into toys, a picture book, and a Netflix partnership announced in 2026.

Coleman has used Danny Go!'s platform to raise awareness of organ donation and bone marrow donation. That advocacy is connected to the medical history of his older son, Isaac, who was born with Fanconi anemia and underwent multiple surgeries and transplants.

Isaac was diagnosed with mouth cancer in December 2025, and the disease progressed aggressively despite treatment. Coleman and Mindy shifted toward hospice care and canceled the planned 2026 Danny Go! tour so the family could focus on Isaac. Isaac died on May 21, 2026, at age 14, and Coleman publicly remembered him as a joyful and resilient child.
