Hannah Love Lanier

Lanier was born in Los Angeles, California. Her parent is identified as Marquita Terry, and her grandfather is Joseph C. Terry, an Emmy Award-winning director of The Oprah Winfrey Show.

She has been homeschooled since kindergarten, a schedule that has allowed her to balance education with acting. Lanier competed in the long jump at the 2016 Junior Olympics and has described mathematician Katherine Johnson as an important influence.

Lanier plays Kate McNamara, the teenage daughter of Joe and Neil, in the Paramount+ spy thriller series Lioness. The characters are portrayed by Zoe Saldaña and Dave Annable. The role placed Lanier in an ensemble that also includes Laysla De Oliveira, Nicole Kidman, and Morgan Freeman.

Lanier has called Lioness a dream project and described the series as an embodiment of female power. She also discussed the encouragement she received from creator Taylor Sheridan after working on the series.

Lanier's first recurring role was Hannah in the animated television series The Tiny Mighty Club, in which she appeared across 15 episodes. In 2022, she played Young Haddassah in the A Black Lady Sketch Show episode “Save My Edges, I'm a Donor!”

She played Charlie in the 2024 action film Road House, appearing alongside Jake Gyllenhaal and Conor McGregor. Her other early screen credit is Jennifer in the short film The Audition Frenzy.

In addition to acting, Lanier hosted Nickelodeon's Double Dare during Super Bowl LIV. She has also appeared in commercials for Subaru and Kraft.

Lanier has expressed interest in working in romantic comedies, coming-of-age stories, and superhero films. She has said that Marvel and DC movies influenced her interest in creating stories that make young audiences feel empowered.
