Malachi Barton, also known as Malachi Daniel Barton, is an American actor from Virginia Beach, Virginia. He is known for Disney Channel productions, particularly his role as Beast Diaz in Stuck in the Middle, as well as appearances in Under Wraps, The Villains of Valley View, and Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires.
Early life
Barton was born in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and moved to Los Angeles with his family in 2013 to pursue acting opportunities. His mother, Felicia Barton, is a singer-songwriter and former American Idol contestant, while his father, Loren Barton, is a guitarist and tour manager. Growing up in a creative household exposed him to the entertainment industry from an early age.
He began auditioning for television roles as a child and landed early appearances in television and commercial projects. His credits before wider recognition included The Young and the Restless, Workaholics, See Dad Run, Instant Mom, and Henry Danger. He also enjoyed playing baseball, visiting the skate park, and supporting the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Stuck in the Middle
Barton gained broad recognition as Beast Diaz in Disney Channel's live-action comedy series Stuck in the Middle. The series ran from 2016 to 2018, and Barton appeared throughout its three-season run as one of the younger members of the Diaz family.
The role became the defining early project of his career and established him as a familiar young performer in Disney Channel programming. During and after the series, he continued appearing in guest roles and expanded into voice acting.
Major Work and Acting Career
In 2019, Barton played Young Diego in the family adventure film Dora and the Lost City of Gold. He also voiced Lionel in Fancy Nancy and Leo in Elena of Avalor, while making guest appearances in Bunk'd and Just Roll with It.
Barton starred as Marshall in Disney Channel's Under Wraps in 2021 and returned for Under Wraps 2 in 2022. From 2022 to 2023, he played Colby Madden, also known as Flashform, in the superhero comedy series The Villains of Valley View.
Franchise projects
Barton joined the Zombies franchise as Victor in Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires. He also appeared with Freya Skye in the music video for "Snow Angels," a duet associated with the film, and performed on songs from its soundtrack.
His later Disney-related work includes the role of Jake in Coven Academy and Fletch in Camp Rock 3. He was also associated with Zombies 5: Secrets of the Sea as Victor and took part in the Descendants/Zombies: Worlds Collide Tour and its concert special.
