Natalia Dyer

Natalia Danielle Dyer grew up in Nashville, Tennessee, alongside two sisters and an older brother. Her parents are Karen and Allen Dyer. After graduating from the Nashville School of the Arts, she moved to New York City. She enrolled at New York University, studying at the Gallatin School of Individualized Study.

Since 2016, Dyer has been in a relationship with actor Charlie Heaton. The pair met while working on Stranger Things.

Dyer began acting on stage in childhood. In 2004, she appeared as Scout in a Nashville production of To Kill a Mockingbird. Her feature debut came in 2009, playing Clarissa Granger in Hannah Montana: The Movie.

Small roles followed in films like The Greening of Whitney Brown and Blue Like Jazz. At age 16, she was cast as Davina in the independent drama I Believe in Unicorns. The film premiered at the 2014 SXSW Film Festival, drawing critical attention to her lead performance.

Her breakout arrived in 2016 as Nancy Wheeler on Netflix's Stranger Things. The supernatural drama quickly gained global attention. Dyer and the rest of the ensemble won a Screen Actors Guild Award in 2017 for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.

Alongside television, Dyer pursued film projects. In 2019, she starred as Alice in the dramedy Yes, God, Yes, portraying a Catholic high schooler exploring sexuality. That same year, she took a supporting role in the art-world satire Velvet Buzzsaw. Other screen credits include the horror film Things Heard & Seen, the comedy thriller series Based on a True Story, and the 2023 horror film All Fun and Games.
