Peter Dager is an American actor known for his roles in WITS Academy, Insidious: The Red Door and the Apple TV+ series Stick. He gained wider attention playing teenage golf prodigy Santi Wheeler opposite Owen Wilson in Stick.

Early Life

Dager was born in Miami, Florida, and began singing and playing guitar at age seven. He has credited his supportive parents and younger sister with encouraging his ambition to become an artist.

At 18, Dager moved to New York City to pursue acting. While taking occasional acting jobs, he worked as a waiter at a Lower East Side burger restaurant to pay his bills.

Education

Dager attended New World School of the Arts in Miami, where he specialised in musical theatre. During high school, he appeared in productions of Next to Normal, In the Heights and Evita.

He graduated in 2021 and chose to focus on professional acting rather than attend college. Dager is fluent in English and Spanish and has studied Mandarin.

Career

Dager began appearing in short films as a child, including Issue 1 in 2011 and Fourteen in 2013. In 2015, he played Harris in the Nickelodeon series WITS Academy and appeared as Miguelito Morand in the Univisión series Demente Criminal, using the name Peter López for that role.

His later screen work included Who Invited Charlie? in 2022 and Insidious: The Red Door in 2023, in which he played Nick the Dick. He also appeared in the short film Adultery and the short Writing You Down.

Stick

Dager plays Santiago “Santi” Wheeler, a gifted teenage golfer, in the Apple TV+ comedy series Stick. He earned the role after six auditions, two trips to Los Angeles and screentests with Owen Wilson, who plays a washed-up golf professional in the series.

Dager had never played golf before auditioning for Stick. After being cast, he made learning the sport an obsession so he could portray Santi, a prodigy who has secretly returned to golf after becoming burdened by the pressure attached to his talent.

The role became Dager’s breakout performance and placed him in a leading role alongside Wilson. The series began streaming on Apple TV+ in 2025.
