Personal life
Quando Rondo has one daughter, Italy Naomi, who was born in December 2019 to him and his former girlfriend Jai Doll. He has also spoken about setting a positive example for his daughter.
He is a practicing Muslim. He grew up in Savannah, Georgia, alongside two brothers and spent part of his adolescence in juvenile detention.
From juvenile detention to "I Remember"
Quando Rondo began writing and performing rap while in juvenile detention. After his release in 2017, he pursued music full-time and uploaded the freestyle "I Remember," which he had written while incarcerated. The track gained attention online before Lil Baby appeared on the released version in January 2018.
He followed it with "Motivation" and "Paradise," whose videos accumulated millions of views on YouTube. His early success led to the mixtape Life B4 Fame in April 2018, which included appearances by Lil Baby, Lil Durk, and OMB Peezy and featured the popular song "ABG."
In June 2018, he became the first signee to YoungBoy Never Broke Again's Never Broke Again imprint, distributed through Atlantic Records. His early releases also included Life After Fame in 2018 and From the Neighborhood to the Stage in 2019. Life After Fame became his first Billboard 200 entry, while From the Neighborhood to the Stage featured BlocBoy JB, NoCap, Polo G, and Shy Glizzy.
QPac and later albums
Quando Rondo released his debut studio album, QPac, on January 10, 2020, through Never Broke Again and Atlantic Records. The album debuted at number 22 on the Billboard 200 and included 2 Chainz, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Lil Durk, Luh Kel, and Polo G. Its songs included "Just Keep Going," "Marvelous," "Collect Calls," and "Bad Vibe."
He continued releasing projects with the mixtapes Diary of a Lost Child and Before My Time Up in 2020, followed by Still Taking Risks in 2021. Still Taking Risks contained 15 tracks and three bonus records without guest features.
In 2022, he collaborated with YoungBoy Never Broke Again on the mixtape 3860. Quando Rondo's second studio album, Recovery, followed in 2023 and included the YoungBoy collaboration "Give Me a Sign." His third studio album, Here for a Reason, was released in November 2024 and featured Winter Rae.
King Von shooting and legal cases
On November 6, 2020, an altercation involving the entourages of Quando Rondo and King Von outside Atlanta's Monaco Hookah Lounge led to a shooting in which King Von died. Quando Rondo's entourage maintained that it acted in self-defense. He later addressed the incident in the song "End of Story" and continued to express support for Timothy "Lul Timm" Leeks, who was charged in King Von's killing.
In August 2022, Quando Rondo and his cousin Saviay'a "Lul Pabb" Robinson were shot at a Los Angeles gas station, and Robinson died. The incident was later connected by prosecutors to an alleged murder-for-hire conspiracy involving several men associated with Lil Durk's Only the Family label.
In 2023, Quando Rondo was indicted in Georgia on charges related to drug sales and gang activity. He was also arrested on federal drug charges in December 2023. He pleaded guilty to the federal drug charges in August 2024 and was sentenced in December 2024 to 33 months in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release.
