Rupert Grint

Grint has been in a relationship with actress Georgia Groome since 2011. They have two daughters, born in May 2020 and April 2025.

Grint has spoken about the change that parenthood brought to his lifestyle. He joined Instagram in November 2020 and posted a photograph holding his first daughter, reaching one million followers in four hours and one minute, a Guinness World Records milestone.

Grint grew up interested in J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter books and auditioned for Ron Weasley after hearing about an open casting call. His audition video included a rap about wanting the part, a sketch in which he dressed as his drama teacher, and a reading of Ron's dialogue. He was cast alongside Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter and Emma Watson as Hermione Granger.

His screen debut came in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in 2001, when he was 11. Grint played Ron in all eight films, ending with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 in 2011. The role made him an international celebrity and earned him a Satellite Award for Outstanding New Talent and a Young Artist Award for Most Promising Young Newcomer.

Grint, Radcliffe and Watson became the central trio of the franchise. The three actors later reunited with other cast members for the television special Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts, which premiered in 2022.

While working on the Harry Potter films, Grint took on other roles, including the co-lead part of Alan in Thunderpants and Ben Marshall in Driving Lessons. He played Malachy McKinney in Cherrybomb and appeared with Emily Blunt and Bill Nighy in the comedy thriller Wild Target.

His post-Harry Potter films included Into the White, Charlie Countryman, CBGB, Moonwalkers and Knock at the Cabin. He also provided voices for Postman Pat: The Movie and Underdogs. In 2026, he starred as Jon in Hanna Bergholm's film Nightborn, which was selected for the main competition at the 76th Berlin International Film Festival, and was cast as Bob Cratchit in Ti West's Ebenezer.

Grint expanded his television work with roles in Sick Note, Snatch and The ABC Murders. He played Daniel Glass in Sick Note, Charlie Cavendish-Scott in Snatch, and Inspector Crome in the Agatha Christie miniseries The ABC Murders. He also served as an executive producer on Snatch.

Since 2019, Grint has played Julian Pearce in the Apple TV+ psychological horror series Servant. He appeared in all four seasons and received a Hollywood Critics Association award for Best Supporting Actor in a Streaming Series, Drama.

Grint made his stage debut as Sweets in Jez Butterworth's Mojo at London's Harold Pinter Theatre in 2013. He later made his Broadway debut as Frank Finger in It's Only a Play, appearing with Matthew Broderick, Nathan Lane, Stockard Channing and Megan Mullally. His performance in Mojo won the WhatsOnStage Award for Best London Newcomer.

Grint participated in the 2010 Wacky Rally with James and Oliver Phelps, helping raise money for Britain's Royal National Lifeboat Institution. He also created a painted butterfly for the Chrysalis Collection benefiting Keech Hospice Care in Luton.

In 2011, Grint joined the Make Mine Milk advertising campaign and began supporting the Little Star Award for Cancer Research UK. In 2012, he carried the Olympic flame through Hendon as part of the London Olympic Torch Relay.
