T.I

T.I. married singer Tameka Harris in 2010. The couple had two sons, Clifford "King" Joseph Harris III and Major Philant Harris, and a daughter who was stillborn during pregnancy.

He also has children named Deyjah, Heiress, Domani, Messiah and King, and Tameka Harris has a daughter named Zonnique. T.I. and Tameka Harris appeared together on the VH1 reality series T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle.

T.I. began rapping at nine and signed with LaFace Records at 19. His first stage name was T.I.P., a version of the childhood nickname Tip given to him by his grandfather. He shortened it to T.I. out of respect for fellow rapper Q-Tip.

His debut album, I'm Serious, was released in 2001. After leaving LaFace, he established the recording company Grand Hustle and released the underground project In Da Streets. His collaboration with Bone Crusher on "Never Scared" helped bring him wider attention before he signed with Atlantic Records.

T.I.'s second album, Trap Muzik, arrived in 2003 and reached number four on the Billboard 200. The album included "24's," "Rubber Band Man" and "Let's Get Away," and received platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America.

He followed it with Urban Legend in 2004. The album reached number seven on the Billboard 200 and included the singles "Bring Em Out," "U Don't Know Me" and "ASAP." Its success established T.I. as a leading rapper from the American South.

His 2006 album King debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. Pharrell Williams called him "the Jay-Z of the South," while T.I. used the title "King of the South" to represent his position in Southern hip-hop.

T.I. made his film debut in ATL in 2006 and appeared alongside Denzel Washington in American Gangster in 2007. His other acting credits include Takers and Ant-Man.

In 2011, he began starring with Tameka Harris in T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle on VH1. The series was renewed for a second season.

In 2007, T.I. was arrested on federal weapons charges while promotion for T.I. vs. T.I.P. was under way. He was placed under house arrest and later served a year and a day in federal prison.

While under house arrest, he worked on Paper Trail, which was released in 2008 and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. At the 51st Grammy Awards, he won Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group for "Swagga Like Us."

After his release, he recorded No Mercy, which arrived in 2010, and Trouble Man: Heavy Is the Head, which was released in 2012. He also promoted the books Power & Beauty: A Love Story of Life on the Streets and Trouble & Triumph: A Novel of Power & Beauty.
