Amy Baier is an American philanthropist known for chairing the Children's National Hospital Foundation and advocating for children's healthcare. She is also known as the wife of Fox News commentator Bret Baier, with whom she has two sons.

Personal life

Amy Baier has been married to Bret Baier since October 9, 2004. They met in October 2002 on a blind date arranged by mutual friends at a Rolling Stones concert. Their relationship continued long-distance while Bret worked in Washington, D.C., and took assignments in Afghanistan and Iraq, and they became engaged over Thanksgiving weekend in 2003.

The couple has two sons. Paul Francis Baier was born on June 29, 2007, and Daniel Bret Baier was born on July 10, 2010.

Paul underwent heart surgery the day after his birth after doctors discovered five congenital heart defects. He has required additional procedures, and his health experience helped shape Amy and Bret's commitment to children's healthcare advocacy.

From fashion to healthcare

After graduating from Southern Methodist University with a degree in communication, Amy moved to New York City and pursued a career in fashion. She worked as a media planner for Calvin Klein.

After returning to Chicago, she moved into healthcare and worked in the neuroscience retail division at Eli Lilly. Her transition reflected her family's connection to the healthcare business.

Children's health advocacy

Amy serves as chair of the Children's National Hospital Foundation and is also a member of the hospital's board of directors. She has been involved with the foundation since the 2000s, helping raise funds for children receiving care, including those with congenital heart disease.

In February 2014, Amy and Bret received the inaugural Joseph E. Robert, Jr. Prize in Philanthropy from Children's National Health System. Amy has also been involved with the Kennedy Center's National Committee for Performing Arts and the National Museum of Women in the Arts.
