Bill Skarsgård

Bill Skarsgård has been in a relationship with actress Alida Morberg since 2016. They had their first child in October 2018 and a second child later.

He is the son of actor Stellan Skarsgård and physician My Skarsgård. His siblings include actors Alexander Skarsgård, Gustaf Skarsgård, and Valter Skarsgård, as well as Sam Skarsgård, Eija Skarsgård, Ossian Skarsgård, and Kolbjörn Skarsgård.

Skarsgård began acting as a child, appearing alongside his brother Alexander in the Swedish thriller White Water Fury in 2000. He later acted with his father in Arn: The Kingdom at Road's End in 2008 and appeared in the science-fiction comedy Kenny Begins in 2009.

His first major role came in the Swedish film Simple Simon in 2010, in which he played the title character. He received a Guldbagge Award nomination for the performance and won the European Film Academy's Shooting Stars Award in 2012. He also appeared in Anna Karenina as Captain Makhotin and played Matthew in The Divergent Series: Allegiant, his first major American film.

From 2013 to 2015, Skarsgård played Roman Godfrey in the Netflix horror series Hemlock Grove. The role brought him wider international recognition and established him in genre-oriented television.

He followed the series with film roles in Atomic Blonde, Battlecreek, Assassination Nation, and Deadpool 2. He also appeared as Henry Deaver and the Kid in the first season of Castle Rock and voiced Moomintroll in Moomins and the Winter Wonderland.

Skarsgård became widely known for playing Pennywise the Dancing Clown in It in 2017 and reprising the role in It Chapter Two in 2019. He later returned as Pennywise in the prequel series It: Welcome to Derry, in which he also served as an executive producer. His performance in It earned nominations for a Saturn Award, an MTV Movie Award, and a Teen Choice Award, while he won a Fright Meter Award for the role.

His later work has included the Marvel film Eternals, the miniseries Clark, the action film John Wick: Chapter 4, and the lead roles in Boy Kills World and The Crow. In Clark, he portrayed Swedish criminal Clark Olofsson, and in John Wick: Chapter 4 he played the Marquis de Gramont.

For Robert Eggers's Nosferatu, Skarsgård played Count Orlok. He worked with an opera coach to lower his vocal register, developed a Transylvanian accent, and wore 60 prosthetics for the transformation. He also played Eddie Barrish in Locked and Tony Kiritsis in Dead Man's Wire, and co-starred as Little John in The Death of Robin Hood.

In addition to acting, Skarsgård has worked as a producer and executive producer. His producing credits include Boy Kills World, Barbarian, Clark, Locked, and Dead Man's Wire.

He made his directing debut with the short film Soul of a Man in 2022, a Swedish project that involved members of the Skarsgård family and adapted an Edgar Allan Poe story.
