Calista Flockhart

Flockhart adopted her son, Liam, in January 2001. She married actor Harrison Ford on June 15, 2010, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, after becoming engaged on Valentine's Day in 2009.

Flockhart first met Ford at the Golden Globe Awards on January 20, 2002. The wedding ceremony was presided over by New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson and New Mexico Supreme Court Chief Justice Charles W. Daniels.

After studying acting at Rutgers University, Flockhart worked in regional theatre in Cleveland, Louisville, Chicago, and Houston. She also appeared in off-Broadway productions including The Loop, All for One, Sophistry, Wrong Turn at Lungfish, Beside Herself, and Bovver Boys.

Flockhart made her Broadway debut in 1994 as Laura Wingfield in Tennessee Williams's The Glass Menagerie. Her performance earned her a Theatre World Award and a Clarence Derwent Award. She later played Natasha in Anton Chekhov's The Three Sisters and appeared in Bash: Latter-Day Plays.

Flockhart became widely known in 1997 when she won the starring role in David E. Kelley's Fox series Ally McBeal. She played the title character throughout the show's run from 1997 to 2002, appearing in 112 episodes.

Her performance earned the 1998 Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Television Series, Musical or Comedy. She also received three Primetime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series and appeared on the cover of Time magazine in June 1998.

From 2006 to 2011, Flockhart starred as Kitty Walker in the ABC drama Brothers & Sisters, appearing opposite Sally Field, Rachel Griffiths, and Matthew Rhys. The series ran for five years, and Flockhart's appearances were reduced during its final season.

She played media executive Cat Grant in Supergirl from 2015 to 2021. Although the series moved from CBS to The CW after its first season and relocated production to Vancouver, Flockhart continued in the role as a recurring character. Her later credits include Martha in the 2022 Geffen Playhouse production of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Lee Radziwill in Feud: Capote vs. The Swans, and the voice role of April Howsam in Invincible.

Flockhart's film work includes The Birdcage, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Things You Can Tell Just by Looking at Her, The Last Shot, and Fragile. In A Midsummer Night's Dream, she played Helena, while in The Birdcage she played Barbara Keeley, the daughter of characters portrayed by Dianne Wiest and Gene Hackman.

She also appeared in Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues and accompanied Ensler to Kenya to protest violence against women, including female genital mutilation. From 2004 to 2014, Flockhart served as the national spokeswoman for Peace Over Violence.
