CeeDee Lamb

Cedarian DeLeon Lamb was born in Opelousas, Louisiana, and spent his early childhood in New Orleans. Following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, he and his family relocated to Houston, Texas. He began playing organized football in the fourth grade, where a youth coach who struggled to pronounce his given name gave him the nickname "CeeDee," which remained with him throughout his career.

Lamb comes from an athletic family with deep football roots. His father, Cliff Lamb, played college football at MidAmerica Nazarene, while his uncle Adam Lamb played at Texas Southern and his uncle Chester Ramirez Jr. played for the Air Force Academy.

He attended John and Randolph Foster High School in Richmond, Texas, where he excelled on the football field. As a senior, Lamb posted 98 receptions for 2,032 yards and 33 receiving touchdowns, in addition to three punt return touchdowns. Alongside quarterback Alex Ramart, he helped guide the team to a 14-1 record and an appearance in the 5A-D1 state semifinals. He was recognized as an All-State selection and named the All-Greater Houston Football Offensive Player of the Year by the Houston Chronicle before committing to the University of Oklahoma.

Lamb played college football for the Oklahoma Sooners under head coach Lincoln Riley from 2017 through 2019. As a true freshman in 2017, he caught passes from Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield, posting 46 receptions for a school freshman record of 807 receiving yards and seven touchdowns, which earned him freshman All-American recognition.

During his sophomore season in 2018, catching passes from Heisman winner Kyler Murray, Lamb caught 65 passes for 1,158 yards and 11 touchdowns while also handling punt returns. He and teammate Marquise Brown became the first wide receiver duo in Oklahoma history to each register 1,000 receiving yards in the same season. Lamb delivered key performances in postseason play, including 167 receiving yards in the Big 12 Championship victory over Texas and 109 yards in the College Football Playoff semifinal against Alabama.

In his 2019 junior season with quarterback Jalen Hurts, Lamb caught 62 passes for 1,327 yards and 14 touchdowns. His average of 21.4 yards per catch set a school single-season record for players with at least 50 receptions. He was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Big 12 Championship Game, selected as a consensus first-team All-American, and named a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award before declaring for the NFL draft.

The Dallas Cowboys selected Lamb in the first round with the 17th overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft. He made an immediate impact as a rookie, finishing second among all rookies in receiving yards with 74 receptions for 935 yards and five touchdowns. In his second season in 2021, he recorded his first 1,000-yard campaign and earned his first Pro Bowl selection as an injury replacement.

Lamb established himself as the Cowboys' primary receiving target, earning second-team All-Pro honors in 2022 after recording 107 receptions for 1,359 yards and nine touchdowns. His 2023 campaign marked a career peak: he led the entire NFL with 135 receptions, gained 1,749 receiving yards, and scored 12 touchdowns. During that season, he became the first player in NFL history to post at least 10 catches and 150 yards in three consecutive games, and he broke Michael Irvin's single-season franchise records for both receptions and receiving yards on his way to first-team All-Pro honors.

In August 2024, Lamb signed a four-year contract extension with Dallas. He continued his high level of production, earning another second-team All-Pro selection in 2024 and securing his fifth consecutive 1,000-yard receiving season in 2025, matching Michael Irvin for the longest such streak in Cowboys franchise history.
