Mark Andrews

Andrews grew up in Scottsdale, Arizona, the son of Paul and Martha Andrews. His father is a urologist, while his mother works in real estate. He has two brothers and a sister.

Doctors diagnosed him with Type 1 diabetes when he was nine years old. The condition requires constant management. Andrews wears an insulin pump off the field, removing it only during games. He serves as an advocate for diabetes awareness, frequently meeting with young people living with the condition.

In November 2025, Andrews announced his engagement to Elena Yates.

At Desert Mountain High School in Scottsdale, Andrews played wide receiver alongside quarterback Kyle Allen. He caught 81 passes for 1,494 yards and 21 touchdowns as a junior. Over his high school career, he set the Arizona state record for receptions, a mark later surpassed by Kade Warner.

Andrews transitioned to tight end after committing to the University of Oklahoma. Following a redshirt season in 2014, he scored seven touchdowns in 2015. He matched that scoring total in 2016 while starting 11 games. In 2017, Andrews won the John Mackey Award as the top collegiate tight end in the country and earned unanimous All-American honors. He finished his college career with 1,765 receiving yards, the most by a tight end in school history.

The Baltimore Ravens selected Andrews in the third round with the 86th overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft. He joined a draft class that also featured quarterback Lamar Jackson. Andrews made an instant impact. He led all rookie tight ends in 2018 with 552 receiving yards.

His role expanded in 2019. Andrews caught 64 passes for 852 yards and ten touchdowns, tying for the second-most touchdown receptions in the league. That performance earned him his first Pro Bowl selection.

In 2021, Andrews caught 107 passes for 1,361 yards and nine touchdowns in 17 games. Both reception and yardage totals set single-season Ravens records. The Associated Press voted him first-team All-Pro.

Andrews passed multiple franchise milestones in subsequent seasons. In October 2024, he caught two touchdowns against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to pass Todd Heap for the Ravens receiving touchdown record. Later that year against the New York Giants, he scored his 48th career touchdown to pass Jamal Lewis for the franchise total touchdown record. He finished the 2024 season with a career-high 11 touchdown catches.

In 2025, Andrews became the Ravens all-time leader in career receiving yards, surpassing Derrick Mason. He also took over the franchise record for total receptions. He signed a three-year contract extension with the team in December 2025.
