Christopher Briney

Christopher Briney was born in Danbury, Connecticut, to actors Michael and Kelly Briney. He has one sister.

He has been in a relationship with actress Isabel Machado since 2021. The two met while they were acting students at Pace University.

Briney attended Waterbury Arts Magnet School and took part in a five-week intensive theater program at Wesleyan University in 2015. He moved to New York City in 2016 to attend Pace University, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in acting in 2020. While studying, he worked at Trader Joe's.

His professional acting debut came in the 2018 short film Under the Covers. He wrote, directed, and edited the 2019 short film Paix.

In 2021, Briney was cast as Conrad Fisher in The Summer I Turned Pretty, the Amazon Prime Video teen romance series adapted from Jenny Han's book series. The role became his breakthrough performance, and he appeared in 26 episodes across the series' 2022-2025 run.

Han said that choosing Briney to play Conrad was the easiest casting choice for the series. Briney was cast alongside Gavin Casalegno, who also appeared in the series.

Director Mary Harron discovered Briney and cast him as James Linton in the 2022 film Dalíland. He later played Aaron Samuels in the 2024 musical comedy film Mean Girls.

Briney made his Off-Broadway debut in 2025 as Noah in Julia Randall's play Dilaria. His audio work includes voicing Conrad Fisher in the re-recorded audiobook We'll Always Have Summer, Aaron Fortin in the Audible original Influencer, and River Quinn in the audio romance Hidden Harbor.

For his work on The Summer I Turned Pretty, he won the 2025 Rising Star Award at the North Fork TV Festival.
