Danny Ramirez

In 2025, Danny Ramirez was in a relationship with American actress Jessica Alba.

Ramirez was born in Chicago and grew up in Miami. He is of Colombian and Mexican descent. Before pursuing acting, he tried American football and soccer, but injuries led him to consider a different career.

He attended New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. While studying there, he made his television debut in The Affair and appeared in NBC's Blindspot. He graduated from Tisch in 2018.

Ramirez gained recognition in 2017 with a recurring role as Wes in Fox's The Gifted and a guest appearance in Orange Is the New Black. He later played Mario Martinez in Netflix's On My Block from 2018 to 2019.

The film received positive reviews and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture. Ramirez was honored as a Rising Star at the 2019 NYU Stonestreet Granite Awards, an award previously given to Miles Teller and Rachel Brosnahan.

In The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Ramirez portrayed Joaquin Torres, a United States Air Force lieutenant and intelligence officer who assists Sam Wilson. The Disney+ series introduced Torres as a character connected to the Falcon mantle.

In early 2024, Ramirez launched the production company Pinstripes with producer Tom Culliver, his longtime friend and collaborator. The company was established to develop stories that might otherwise be overlooked.

Ramirez is set to make his directing debut with Baton, a sports drama that he is also producing and writing. He is attached to star in the film alongside Lewis Pullman, Camila Mendes and Becky G. Through Pinstripes, he is also set to star in and produce an adaptation of Scarface.

Ramirez has spoken about the importance of Latino representation in Hollywood and has used his public profile to advocate for more roles centered on Latino characters. He described his frustration after a role built around a Latino character was rewritten for a white actor.

His other Latin-focused appearances include the 2024 Doritos Dinamita commercial, the lead role in the music video for Becky G and Óscar Maydon's "Mercedes", and a modeling appearance for Willy Chavarría during Paris Fashion Week.
