Emma Roberts

Roberts is the daughter of actor Eric Roberts and Kelly Cunningham, and the niece of actress Julia Roberts. She has one child, a son named Rhodes Robert Hedlund, who was born on December 27, 2020, during her relationship with actor Garrett Hedlund.

Roberts was in a relationship with actor Evan Peters from 2012 to 2019, and the couple became engaged in 2014. She began dating Hedlund in 2019, and their relationship ended in 2022. Roberts began dating actor Cody John in 2022, became engaged to him in 2024, and married him on July 25, 2026.

Roberts made her film debut at age nine in Ted Demme's 2001 crime drama Blow. She played Kristina Jung, the daughter of Johnny Depp's character, and later appeared in smaller roles in Grand Champion and Spymate.

Her breakthrough came in 2004, when she began starring as Addie Singer in the Nickelodeon teen sitcom Unfabulous. The series ran for three seasons from 2004 to 2007 and brought Roberts several Teen Choice Award and Young Artist Award nominations. She also released the soundtrack album Unfabulous and More in 2005, which included the singles "I Wanna Be" and "Dummy".

Roberts continued her transition from child performer to film actress with leading roles in Aquamarine, Nancy Drew, Wild Child, and Hotel for Dogs. She won the 2007 Young Artist Award for Best Supporting Young Actress in a Feature Film for Aquamarine.

Seeking more mature parts, Roberts appeared in Lymelife, 4.3.2.1., The Art of Getting By, and Wes Craven's Scream 4. In 2013, she played Amy Anderson in Adult World, Casey Mathis in We're the Millers, and April in Gia Coppola's Palo Alto. Her performance in Palo Alto received particular critical praise.

Roberts joined American Horror Story in its third season, Coven, as Madison Montgomery, a self-involved telekinetic witch. She later played Maggie Esmerelda in Freak Show, Serena Belinda in Cult, Madison again in Apocalypse, Brooke Thompson in 1984, and Anna Victoria Alcott in Delicate.

She also led the Fox comedy-horror series Scream Queens as Chanel Oberlin from 2015 to 2016. Her later film credits include The Blackcoat's Daughter, Nerve, Paradise Hills, Holidate, The Hunt, About Fate, The Hunt, Madame Web, and Space Cadet. She voiced Wedgehead in the animated musical comedy UglyDolls.

Roberts co-founded the book club Belletrist with Karah Preiss in 2017. The initiative introduces a new book each month and has featured recommendations including Joan Didion's South and West, Octavia E. Butler's Fledgling, and Lisa Taddeo's Animal.

She established the production company Belletrist TV and signed a first-look television deal with Hulu. Her executive-producing work includes the series Tell Me Lies and First Kill, while she also produced and starred in the 2024 film Space Cadet.

Roberts has supported children's welfare, women's rights, and public health initiatives. She has participated in fundraising activities for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and supported the Children's Cancer Research Fund.
