Record-breaking start at Club Tijuana
Mora entered the youth academy of Club Tijuana, where his father, former professional player Gilberto Mora Olayo, coached in the development system. Head coach Juan Carlos Osorio promoted him to the first-team squad ahead of the 2024-25 Liga MX campaign.
His senior debut arrived on August 19, 2024, against Santos Laguna. Coming on as a substitute in the 72nd minute, Mora set up Jaime Álvarez for a goal in a 3-1 win. The play made him the youngest player to register an assist in Liga MX history. Twelve days later, he scored the winning goal against León at 15 years and 320 days old, breaking the league record as its youngest goalscorer.
Gold Cup triumph and international debut
Mora rose through Mexico's youth ranks from the under-15 level, eventually captaining the under-17 squad. In January 2025, he featured in a senior exhibition match against SC Internacional.
His official senior debut followed on June 28, 2025, during the CONCACAF Gold Cup quarter-final against Saudi Arabia. At 16 years and 257 days old, he became the youngest player to earn an official cap for Mexico. He provided an assist in the semi-final win over Honduras and started the final against the United States, collecting his first major international trophy.
2026 FIFA World Cup
Manager Javier Aguirre named Mora to Mexico's squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup as the youngest player in the tournament. He entered the opening match against South Africa as a substitute, breaking Manuel Rosas's 96-year-old record as the youngest Mexican player to appear in a World Cup.
He started the group match against Czechia and the round of 32 match against Ecuador. At 17 years and 259 days, he became the second-youngest player to start a World Cup knockout match, trailing only Pelé in 1958. He then started against England in the round of 16.
