Jack Wolfe

Wolfe identifies as queer. He has been in a relationship with actor Cavan Clarke.

He grew up between Wakefield in Yorkshire and New Quay on the Welsh coast.

Wolfe attended Ackworth School near Pontefract and joined a Saturday youth theatre in Wakefield. He trained at Chetham's School of Music in Manchester before graduating from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London in 2017.

His early stage work included the title role in The Braille Legacy at London's Charing Cross Theatre and Danny, an understudy role, in the National Theatre's Pinocchio. He later played Tobias Ragg in Sweeney Todd at Belfast's Lyric Theatre and Kai in The Snow Queen at Rose Theatre Kingston.

Wolfe made his television debut in 2018 as Samuel Buscombe in the fourth series of the BBC children's drama Hetty Feather. He subsequently appeared in Father Brown, The Witcher, and Inside No. 9.

He played Tim Walker and Prince Tamino in the 2022 musical fantasy film The Magic Flute. In the second season of Netflix's Shadow and Bone, he portrayed Wylan Hendricks. He also returned to Inside No. 9 in its ninth series and was cast as Ralph Touchett in the BBC adaptation of The Portrait of a Lady.

In 2021, Wolfe played Peter Duchene in the Royal Shakespeare Company's musical production of The Magician's Elephant. His performance as Gabe Goodman in the 2023 Donmar Warehouse production of Next to Normal brought him several theatre honours, including the BroadwayWorld UK and West End Award for Best Supporting Performer in a New Production of a Musical.

The role also earned Wolfe the Critics' Circle Theatre Award for Most Promising Newcomer and The Stage Debut Award for Best West End Debut Performer. He received a nomination for Best Actor in a Supporting Role in a Musical at the 2024 Laurence Olivier Awards and won the WhatsOnStage Award for Best Supporting Performer in a Musical.

Wolfe reprised Gabe Goodman in the West End transfer of Next to Normal at Wyndham's Theatre. The production was filmed for the television programme Great Performances and aired in 2025.

Wolfe played Moritz Stiefel in a 2024 concert production of Spring Awakening at the Victoria Palace Theatre. He also performed in the Sondheim on Sondheim revue at Alexandra Palace.

In 2025, he originated the role of the Balladeer and played David Fry in the world premiere of The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry at Chichester Festival Theatre. He made his Broadway debut as Orpheus in Hadestown, a performance that won the Broadway.com Audience Choice Award for Favorite Replacement in 2026.
