Jayda Cheaves

Cheaves began flipping clothes online as a teenager in Savannah, using fashion as an outlet and developing an entrepreneurial identity before establishing her major brands. In 2017, she moved from her parents' home to Atlanta, opened a small outlet selling hair products, and later closed it after deciding that the products did not meet the quality she wanted for customers.

She used the experience to launch Waydamin, a fashion line offering hair products, styling solutions, and clothing. The brand has sold cutout tops, flared trousers, neutral-colored leggings, and turtlenecks, and is headquartered in a business complex in Atlanta. Cheaves has also expanded her business portfolio through Jayda Cheaves Beauty and the Amour Jayda retail brand.

In 2018, Cheaves published The Young Boss Blueprint: 15 Steps to Becoming a Young Boss. The book presents advice for young entrepreneurs and addresses challenges associated with starting a business.

The title was released in digital and paperback editions, extending Cheaves's focus on entrepreneurship beyond her clothing and beauty businesses.

Cheaves created her self-titled YouTube channel in 2018 and posted her first video toward the end of that year. Her online presence also includes Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat, where she has used the names @jaydacheaves, @wayydaminn, and JaydaWayda.

Her Instagram account has attracted more than 8 million followers. She has used the platform to share fashion, business activity, travel, daily life, and occasional photographs of her son. She also appeared on the cover of Prema Magazine in January 2021.

Cheaves has appeared in the film Bid for Love and in the television projects The Impact: Atlanta and The Real, all identified with 2021 or 2022 release dates in her entertainment biography.

Her public profile combines acting with fashion, beauty, publishing, and social media work. She has also discussed her style and acknowledged undergoing eyelid surgery to correct a droopy eye associated with ptosis.

Cheaves was in a relationship with rapper Lil Baby, whose birth name is Dominique Jones. They met in Atlanta in 2016, separated after about two years, and later reunited after learning that Cheaves was expecting a child.

Cheaves has one son, Loyal Armani, who was born in February 2019. She and Jones separated again in 2022. Her family includes her mother, Tricia Cheaves, her brother Len, and her sister Jazmine Ameerah.

Cheaves and her friend Gregory Wright were arrested at Sangster International Airport in Jamaica after two 9mm pistols and 15 rounds of ammunition were found in their luggage. The arrest occurred as she attempted to leave the island after celebrating her 24th birthday.

Both were ordered to pay fines for firearm and ammunition charges or serve prison terms. The incident became one of the major legal episodes associated with Cheaves's public career.
