Ravi Teja

Ravi Teja married Kalyani on 26 May 2002. They have a daughter, Mokshadha, and a son, Mahadhan. His brothers Bharath Raju and Raghu also pursued acting, while his nephew Maadhav Bhupatiraju became an actor.

His brother Bharath Raju died in a car accident in Hyderabad in 2017.

Ravi Teja moved to Madras in 1988 to pursue a career in cinema. He initially worked in small or uncredited roles in films such as Karthavyam, Abhimanyu, Chaitanya, and Aaj Ka Goonda Raj. He also worked as an assistant director on Bollywood and Telugu projects, including Pratibandh, Aaj Ka Goonda Raj, Criminal, and Krishna Vamsi's Ninne Pelladata. During this period, Gunasekhar and YVS Chowdary were his roommates.

His first lead role came in Nee Kosam in 1999. Although the film was an average box-office performer, his performance earned him the Nandi Special Jury Award. He gained wider recognition through supporting and lead roles in Sindhooram, Samudram, Annayya, Itlu Sravani Subramanyam, Avunu Valliddaru Ista Paddaru!, and Idiot.

Ravi Teja established himself as a leading Telugu actor with Itlu Sravani Subramanyam in 2001 and the commercially successful Avunu Valliddaru Ista Paddaru! and Idiot in 2002. His collaborations with director Puri Jagannadh became an important part of this period, while Krishna Vamsi directed him in Khadgam and Sindhooram. He won another Nandi Special Jury Award for Khadgam.

He continued with prominent roles in Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi, Venky, Naa Autograph, Bhadra, and Vikramarkudu. In Vikramarkudu, directed by S. S. Rajamouli, he played both Athili Sathi Babu and police officer Vikram Rathod. His action-comedy performances in Dubai Seenu, Krishna, Neninthe, and Kick further strengthened his popularity. He won the Nandi Award for Best Actor for Neninthe.

After a period that included commercially unsuccessful films such as Touch Chesi Chudu, Nela Ticket, Amar Akbar Anthony, and Disco Raja, Ravi Teja returned to success with Krack in 2021. The film marked his third collaboration with director Gopichand Malineni, following Don Seenu and Balupu.

His 2022 releases included Khiladi, Ramarao on Duty, and Dhamaka. Dhamaka became the highest-grossing film of his career. He later appeared in Waltair Veerayya, Ravanasura, Tiger Nageswara Rao, Eagle, and Mr. Bachchan. His supporting performance in Waltair Veerayya won the Filmfare Award for Best Telugu Supporting Actor.

Ravi Teja has also worked as a presenter or producer on films including FIR, Gatta Kusthi, Ravanasura, Changure Bangaru Raja, and Sundaram Master. His production credits expanded alongside his acting career in Telugu and Tamil cinema.

He has provided voice work for Maryada Ramanna, Doosukeltha, Awe, Mahaveerudu, and Hanu-Man. In Hanu-Man, he voiced the monkey character Koti. He has also performed as a playback singer on songs from Balupu, Power, Raja the Great, Disco Raja, and Ravanasura.
