Rob Schneider is an American actor and comedian known for his run on Saturday Night Live and his starring role as Deuce Bigalow in Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo. He is also recognized for comedy films including The Animal, The Hot Chick, The Benchwarmers, and Grown Ups, as well as his recurring collaborations with Adam Sandler.

Personal life

Rob Schneider was married to former model London King from 1988 to 1990. They had a daughter, singer Elle King, born in 1989. Schneider and Elle King later rebuilt a close relationship, and he publicly apologized to her in 2024 after she criticized his comments and described difficulties in their relationship.

Schneider married television producer Patricia Azarcoya Arce in Beverly Hills on April 23, 2011. They have two daughters, Miranda Scarlett Schneider and Madeline Robbie Schneider. The couple separated in 2025, and Patricia filed for divorce that year.

From San Francisco stand-up to Saturday Night Live

Schneider began performing stand-up comedy in San Francisco while still in high school, including an opening performance for the band Head On. An opening slot for Dennis Miller led to an appearance on HBO's 13th Annual Young Comedians special in 1987.

He joined the writing staff of NBC's Saturday Night Live in 1988 and became a featured cast member from 1990 to 1994. His recurring characters included the Richmeister, an office worker who gave coworkers unwanted nicknames, as well as Tiny Elvis, Orgasm Guy, Carlo, and the Sensitive Naked Man. He returned to the role in Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo (2005). Other major comedy roles included Marvin Mange in The Animal (2001), Clive Maxtone and Jessica Spencer in The Hot Chick (2002), and Gus Matthews in The Benchwarmers (2006).

His earlier supporting credits included Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, Surf Ninjas, Demolition Man, The Beverly Hillbillies, Judge Dredd, and Down Periscope. He also appeared alongside Adam Sandler in films such as The Waterboy, Big Daddy, Little Nicky, 50 First Dates, The Longest Yard, Grown Ups, You Don't Mess with the Zohan, Hubie Halloween, and The Wrong Missy.

Schneider directed, produced, and starred in Big Stan, released in 2008, and later directed and produced The Chosen One and Daddy Daughter Trip. In Daddy Daughter Trip, he appeared with Miranda Scarlett Schneider and Elle King.

Schneider starred in the CBS sitcom Rob in 2012. He created, produced, directed, and starred in the Netflix sitcom Real Rob, which ran from 2015 to 2017 and featured Patricia Azarcoya Arce and Miranda Scarlett Schneider. He also appeared in The Masked Singer season six as the wildcard contestant Hamster and voiced the principal in the animated film Leo.

His first comedy album, Registered Offender, was released in 2010 and combined audio sketches with songs and character voices. He has continued performing stand-up internationally, including the Netflix special Asian Momma, Mexican Kids, which premiered in 2020 and ended with a duet with Elle King.

In addition to entertainment, Schneider established the Rob Schneider Music Foundation in 1996. The foundation helped restore music education in Pacifica elementary schools by funding teachers, instruments, and other equipment.
