Seth Rogen

Rogen has been married to writer and actor Lauren Miller since 2011. They began dating in 2004 after meeting while Rogen was working on Da Ali G Show, became engaged in 2010, and married in Sonoma County, California, in October 2011. Miller has appeared in minor roles in several of Rogen's films and directed the Netflix comedy Like Father, in which Rogen also acted.

Rogen and Miller have said that they do not plan to have children. Miller also encouraged Rogen to attend a ceramics class, which led to his interest in making pottery. Together, they founded Hilarity for Charity, an organization focused on Alzheimer's disease awareness, research, and support.

Rogen began performing stand-up comedy as a teenager after taking a comedy workshop with Mark Pooley at age 12. At 13, he co-wrote an early draft of Superbad with his childhood friend Evan Goldberg, and at 16 he placed second in the Vancouver Amateur Comedy Contest. He later dropped out of high school and moved to Los Angeles with his family after landing a role in Judd Apatow's television series Freaks and Geeks.

In Freaks and Geeks, Rogen played Ken Miller, a cynical teenager with a deadpan sense of humor. Although the series lasted only one season, it became a cult classic and launched the careers of Rogen, James Franco, Jason Segel, and other members of its ensemble. Rogen subsequently joined Apatow's Undeclared as an actor and writer, and became a staff writer on the final season of Da Ali G Show with Goldberg. The writing team received a Primetime Emmy nomination.

Rogen gained wider attention as a co-producer and performer in The 40-Year-Old Virgin in 2005, then broke through as a leading man in Knocked Up in 2007. He also appeared in Superbad that year, playing Officer Michaels in the comedy he co-wrote with Goldberg. The film drew on experiences the two had shared as teenagers and later became a cult classic.

Rogen and Goldberg continued their partnership with Pineapple Express, which they co-wrote and in which Rogen starred opposite James Franco. Their other major collaborations include The Green Hornet, This Is the End, and The Interview. Rogen and Goldberg directed This Is the End in 2013, making it Rogen's directorial debut, and directed The Interview in 2014. The latter drew threats connected to its fictional plot about an attempt to assassinate North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and received a limited theatrical release after a cyberattack on Sony Pictures Entertainment.

In 2011, Rogen and Goldberg founded Point Grey Pictures. The company produced or executive produced projects including 50/50, Neighbors, Sausage Party, The Disaster Artist, Long Shot, The Boys, Invincible, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem.

Rogen has built a substantial voice-acting career alongside his live-action work. He voiced Mantis in the Kung Fu Panda series, Pumbaa in The Lion King, Donkey Kong in The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Bebop in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, and Allen the Alien in Invincible. He also co-wrote and produced Sausage Party, voicing its lead character, Frank.

His television work includes developing Preacher with Evan Goldberg and Sam Catlin, executive producing The Boys and Invincible, and co-developing the Hulu series Future Man. He played Rand Gauthier in Pam & Tommy, earning Primetime Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for his performance and an Emmy nomination as an executive producer.

Rogen co-created and stars in the Apple TV+ satire The Studio as Matt Remick, a newly appointed film-company head balancing artistic ambitions with commercial demands. He also wrote and directed the series with Goldberg and other collaborators. At the Emmy Awards, Rogen won for lead actor, directing, and writing, and accepted the award for outstanding comedy series with the show's collaborators.

Rogen has worked with Lauren Miller to raise awareness of Alzheimer's disease, which has affected her family. He testified before a United States Senate subcommittee in 2014 and helped establish Hilarity for Charity as a resource for younger people learning about the disease. The organization also created a grant program with Home Instead Senior Care to provide at-home dementia care.

Rogen published his first book, Yearbook, in 2021. The memoir consists of essays about his adolescence and experiences in Hollywood. He also co-founded the Canadian cannabis company Houseplant with Goldberg in 2019 and developed an interest in ceramics after attending pottery classes with Miller.
