Akiko Matsuura

Matsuura was formerly in a relationship with English actor and musician Charlie Heaton. They have a son, Archie Heaton, who was born in 2014, when Matsuura was 34 and Heaton was 20.

Archie lives primarily with Matsuura in London, and she and Heaton share custody of him. Heaton met Matsuura while they were both involved with the noise rock band Comanechi, before his acting career began.

Matsuura was the frontwoman of Comanechi, performing with guitarist Simon Petrovich. The band was part of the London punk and noise rock scene, and its work formed an important part of Matsuura's early career in the United Kingdom.

Charlie Heaton also played drums with Comanechi for more than a year. Matsuura and Heaton met through the band while he was touring with the group.

Matsuura is the frontwoman of the British art rock band PRE. She also played drums for The Big Pink, an English electronic rock band, and has been associated with the Glasgow band Divorce.

Her other work includes the side project Sperm Javelin. In addition to drums and vocals, she has played guitar in her bands. Her music has been connected with the Skin Graft, Merok, and Forcefield labels.
