Travis Barker

Barker was married to Melissa Kennedy from 2001 to 2002 and to Shanna Moakler from 2004 to 2008. He married Kourtney Kardashian in 2022 after an unofficial Las Vegas ceremony in April, a legal ceremony in Santa Barbara in May, and a religious wedding ceremony in Portofino, Italy, later that month. Barker and Moakler have two children, Landon and Alabama, and Barker and Kardashian welcomed their son Rocky in 2023. He also remained close to Atiana De La Hoya, Moakler's daughter from a previous relationship.

Barker and Moakler appeared with their family on the MTV reality series Meet the Barkers, which aired from 2005 to 2006. Barker and Kardashian's relationship was also featured in The Kardashians. Barker was raised Catholic and has said that he believes in God and prays regularly with his children.

Barker began playing drums at age four, when his mother bought him his first drum kit. He started lessons at age five with drummer Michael Mai, and during his school years he also studied trumpet and piano. At Fontana High School, he played drum set in the jazz ensemble and snare drum in the marching band, developing experience with military, jazz, punk, and hip-hop rhythms.

After graduating, Barker moved to Laguna Beach and worked as a garbage collector while playing with punk bands. He performed with Snot and Feeble, where he met Chad Larson, who later cofounded the ska-punk band the Aquabats. Barker joined the Aquabats in 1996 and recorded The Fury of the Aquabats! with the group.

Barker first played with blink-182 as a temporary replacement for Scott Raynor during the SnoCore Tour in 1998. He learned the band's 20-song set list in about 45 minutes before his first performance and was recruited permanently later that year, joining Mark Hoppus and Tom DeLonge. His first blink-182 album was Enema of the State (1999), whose success pushed the band to the forefront of pop-punk. The album sold more than 15 million copies worldwide and included the singles “What's My Age Again?”, “All the Small Things,” and “Adam's Song.”

Barker also played with Tom DeLonge in Box Car Racer and cofounded +44 with Mark Hoppus. He became a member of the rap-rock group the Transplants and worked with artists across hip-hop, rock, pop, and country. His other band associations included the Aquabats, Expensive Taste, TRV$DJAM, Antemasque, and Goldfinger.

In 2011, Barker released his debut solo album, Give the Drummer Some, which featured collaborations with Lil Wayne, Pharrell Williams, RZA, Snoop Dogg, Ludacris, Busta Rhymes, and other artists. He later worked with Machine Gun Kelly, Avril Lavigne, Willow Smith, Yelawolf, and $uicideboy$. He also executive produced Machine Gun Kelly's Mainstream Sellout and signed artists including Jxdn and Avril Lavigne to DTA Records.

On September 19, 2008, Barker and DJ AM were the only survivors of a plane crash in South Carolina that killed the two pilots, security guard Charles Still, and personal assistant Chris Baker. Barker suffered burns over more than 65 percent of his body and spent 11 weeks in hospitals and burn centers. His treatment included numerous surgeries, blood transfusions, and skin grafts, and he later developed post-traumatic stress disorder.

Barker returned to the recording studio in November 2008 and resumed playing drums. The crash preceded blink-182's reunion announcement at the 2009 Grammy Awards. Barker released Give the Drummer Some and recorded Neighborhoods with blink-182 in 2011. He later appeared on the band's albums California (2016), Nine (2019), and One More Time... (2023).

Barker's television work includes Meet the Barkers, MTV Cribs, Punk'd, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, The Simpsons, The Eric Andre Show, Dave, and The Kardashians. He also appeared with blink-182 in American Pie and narrated the 2020 film Downfalls High.

His screen and game appearances include the documentary I'll Sleep When I'm Dead, the video games Tony Hawk's Project 8 and Guitar Hero World Tour, and the documentary Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear. He published the memoir Can I Say: Living Large, Cheating Death, and Drums, Drums, Drums in 2015.
