Greg Gutfeld

Greg Gutfeld has been married to Elena Moussa since 2004. They met in Europe while Gutfeld was on a work trip, and Moussa, who is from Russia, previously worked as a photo editor for Maxim Russia. They later moved to New York City together.

Gutfeld and Moussa welcomed a daughter named Mira in 2024. They also have a French Bulldog named Gus. Gutfeld grew up Catholic and served as an altar boy, but has described himself as an agnostic atheist.

Gutfeld began his publishing career as a staff writer at Prevention magazine before joining Men's Health. He became editor-in-chief of Men's Health in 1999, then moved to Dennis Publishing's Stuff, where circulation rose from 750,000 to 1.2 million during his tenure.

In 2003, Gutfeld arranged a disruptive publicity stunt at a Magazine Publishers of America conference and was fired soon afterward. He later served as director of brand development at Dennis Publishing and edited the British edition of Maxim from 2004 to 2006. He was also an early contributor to The Huffington Post, writing for the site from its launch in 2005 until 2008.

Gutfeld became the host of the Fox News late-night program Red Eye in 2007. The satirical show featured political commentary, comedy, and a rotating panel, with Bill Schulz serving as sidekick and Andy Levy as ombudsman during part of its run. Gutfeld left the program in 2015.

He joined The Five as a co-host and panelist in 2011. In 2015, he began hosting The Greg Gutfeld Show, which moved to weeknights and was relaunched as Gutfeld! in 2021. The program later became one of the most-watched late-night television shows in the United States. In 2025, he began hosting the Fox Nation game show What Did I Miss?

Gutfeld has written books combining political criticism, humor, and personal commentary. His titles include The Scorecard, Lessons from the Land of Pork Scratchings, The Bible of Unspeakable Truths, The Joy of Hate, Not Cool, and How to Be Right.

His later books include The Gutfeld Monologues, The Plus: Self-Help for People Who Hate Self-Help, and The King of Late Night. His writing has remained closely connected to the satirical and conservative-libertarian style of his television work.

Gutfeld's political commentary is associated with libertarian views, caustic humor, and criticism of both left-wing and right-wing political extremes. His style has also drawn sustained criticism for inflammatory remarks made on Fox News programs.

In 2009, comments on Red Eye about the Canadian military prompted backlash, after which Gutfeld apologized. He was also criticized in 2022 for comments about media coverage of Russia's invasion of Ukraine and in 2023 after remarks on The Five concerning Holocaust survivors and Viktor Frankl's Man's Search for Meaning. The Auschwitz Memorial publicly criticized the Holocaust comments.
