Dontai Anthony Ethridge was raised in Virginia alongside three sisters. He completed his schooling and university education in Virginia before pursuing online video production.

He married his wife, Danielle, in August 2020. The couple expanded their family with the birth of their child in February 2023.

Ethridge launched his YouTube channel in April 2015, posting his debut video as a comedic review of the film Fifty Shades of Grey. He gradually expanded his output to include gaming videos, vlogs, interviews, roasts, and the recurring "Fuck You" series. He gained substantial attention through his reaction videos, reviewing viral internet clips, social media videos from creators like Summerella, Dope Island, and MeechOnMars, and recent hip-hop releases.

Alongside his primary YouTube presence, Ethridge established a Twitch livestreaming audience under the handle Im_Dontai. To organize his broadcasts and gameplay, he launched secondary YouTube channels, including ImDontai Gaming for video game playthroughs and ImStillDontai for streaming highlights and reactions. His audience is widely referred to as the Bucketeers and FNG, referencing his alternate online moniker, Bucky.

Beyond commentary and streaming, Ethridge has participated directly in online rap culture. After receiving a shoutout from rapper XXXTENTACION in the "King's Dead Freestyle," Ethridge incorporated a snippet of the verse into his video introductions. When the clip was later claimed by Universal Music Group, Ethridge began writing and recording his own original rap tracks to serve as channel intros.

Ethridge has also collaborated with fellow online music creators, including an appearance as a featured performer on Crypt's "YouTube Rap Cypher Vol 2."
