Lori Loughlin

Lori Anne Loughlin was born in New York City and moved with her family to Oceanside, Long Island, when she was a year old. Her family later settled in Hauppauge, New York, where she attended Hauppauge High School.

Loughlin began working as a print model during childhood. At 15, she was cast as aspiring dancer Jody Travis on the ABC soap opera The Edge of Night, a role she played from 1980 to 1983.

Loughlin joined Full House as Rebecca Donaldson, Danny Tanner's co-host and Jesse Katsopolis's romantic interest. She was initially contracted for six episodes, but the character became a regular after a positive audience response. Rebecca's relationship with Jesse, played by John Stamos, developed into a central storyline, and the characters eventually married on the series.

Loughlin appeared on Full House from 1988 to 1995 and later reprised the role for Netflix's Fuller House, appearing from 2016 to 2018. Her other television work during and after the original series included guest appearances on Seinfeld, Spin City, and The Drew Carey Show, as well as a portrayal of Black Canary on Birds of Prey.

From 2004 to 2005, Loughlin co-created, produced, and starred in the WB drama series Summerland. She played Ava Gregory, an aunt who raises three children after their parents die in a car accident. The series ended after two seasons.

She later played Debbie Wilson on 90210 from 2008 to 2012 and became a leading figure in Hallmark television. Her work for the network included the Garage Sale Mystery film series, in which she played Jennifer Shannon, and When Calls the Heart, in which she played Abigail Stanton from 2013 to 2019. She also served as a producer on several Garage Sale Mystery projects and on When Calls the Heart.

Following her 2019 legal case, Loughlin resumed acting with a return as Abigail Stanton in When Hope Calls in 2021. Her later credits include Fall Into Winter, Blessings of Christmas, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Blue Bloods, and On Call.

In March 2019, Loughlin and her husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, were indicted in the nationwide college admissions bribery scandal. Loughlin pleaded guilty in May 2020 to conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud.

She was sentenced to two months in prison, two years of supervised release, and community service. She served her sentence at FCI Dublin in Northern California from October 30 to December 28, 2020. Hallmark terminated its business relationship with her, edited her scenes from the upcoming season of When Calls the Heart, and Netflix removed her from Fuller House.

Loughlin and Giannulli married in 1997 and have two daughters, Isabella Rose and Olivia Jade. They separated in 2025 after nearly 28 years of marriage.
