Meek Mill

Meek Mill has three children. In 2020, Milan "di Rouge" Harris gave birth to his third child, her first, on his birthday.

He dated Nicki Minaj from early 2015 until January 2017.

Meek Mill began rapping in Philadelphia as a teenager and competed in rap battles under the name Meek Millz. He later formed the group The Bloodhoundz with three friends, and the group released four mixtapes. From 2006 to 2010, he also released solo mixtapes including The Real Me, The Real Me 2, Flamers, Flamers 2: Hottest in tha City, Flamers 3: The Wait Is Over, and Mr. Philadelphia.

His early mixtapes attracted the attention of Charlie Mack and T.I. He signed with T.I.'s Grand Hustle Records in 2008, but legal difficulties prevented him from releasing an official album with the label. He and Grand Hustle parted ways without issuing an album.

In 2011, Meek Mill signed with Rick Ross's Maybach Music Group. His appearances on the label's compilation Self Made Vol. 1 introduced him to a wider audience, particularly through the songs "Tupac Back" and "Ima Boss," both featuring Rick Ross. He was also selected for the 2011 XXL Freshman Class.

Meek Mill released his debut studio album, Dreams and Nightmares, in 2012 through Maybach Music Group and Warner Bros. Records. Led by "Amen," featuring Drake, the album reached number two on the Billboard 200. The song also became the subject of a Philadelphia pastor's call for a boycott because of its lyrical content, which Meek Mill said was not intended to disrespect religion.

His second studio album, Dreams Worth More Than Money, was released in 2015 and topped the Billboard 200. He followed it with Wins & Losses in 2017, Championships in 2018, and Expensive Pain in 2021. Championships also debuted at number one, while "Going Bad," featuring Drake, became his highest-charting song on the Billboard Hot 100.

His other major projects include the mixtapes Dreamchasers, Dreamchasers 2, Dreamchasers 3, and DC4, the 4/4 extended-play series, and the 2023 collaborative album Too Good to Be True with Rick Ross. He also appeared as Blax in the 2020 film Charm City Kings.

Meek Mill founded Dream Chasers Records in 2012 as a record-label imprint. The label's early artists included Louie V. Gutta, Lee Mazin, and Goldie, and later signings included Yung Bleu, Vory, and Lil Snupe.

In 2019, Dream Chasers Records launched as a joint venture with Roc Nation. Meek Mill served as the label's president and oversaw its artists, recording operations, creative strategy, marketing, and business affairs. He ended his management deal with Roc Nation in 2022, while continuing to work with Jay-Z on their criminal justice reform organization.

Meek Mill's legal history began with a 2008 conviction involving drug paraphernalia and possession of a loaded firearm. He received a prison sentence followed by probation and parole. Several later probation violations led to jail time, house arrest, and restrictions on his travel and performances.

In November 2017, he was sentenced to two to four years in prison for violating probation. After about five months, he was released on bail pending appeal. In 2019, the Superior Court of Pennsylvania overturned his probation-violation sentence and underlying convictions. He then pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor firearm charge, which ended the case and terminated his status as a convicted felon. Pennsylvania governor Tom Wolf pardoned that remaining conviction in 2023.

His experiences became the focus of the five-part documentary series Free Meek, released on Amazon Prime Video in 2019. Meek Mill and Jay-Z co-founded the nonprofit Reform Alliance, which advocates for changes to probation and parole practices in the United States.
