Paris Jackson is the daughter of Michael Jackson and Debbie Rowe. She is an American model and actress known for signing with IMG Models, appearing in Gringo and American Horror Stories, and releasing her debut album Wilted.

Personal life

Paris Jackson was raised by her father, Michael Jackson, after he received full custody of her and her older brother, Prince, following his divorce from Debbie Rowe. She grew up with Prince and her younger half-brother, Bigi, at Neverland Ranch. During public outings, the children often wore masks to conceal their faces from the press. Elizabeth Taylor and Macaulay Culkin were her godparents.

Michael Jackson died on June 25, 2009, when Paris was 11. She spoke at his televised memorial service on July 7, telling the audience that he had been the best father she could imagine. Paris and Prince later accepted Michael's Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2010 Grammy Awards.

Paris reconnected with Rowe as a teenager, and the two developed a close relationship. Paris supported her mother after Rowe was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016. From 2024 to 2025, Paris was engaged to music producer Justin Long. Their engagement ended in 2025.

Paris has spoken about experiencing depression, self-hatred and post-traumatic stress connected to childhood publicity and paparazzi attention. She has discussed using therapy, music and affirmations to cope, and has said that eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy was effective for her.

Modeling and acting career

Paris began building an entertainment career in 2017, when she signed with IMG Models and appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone. She later appeared on covers including Harper's Bazaar and Vogue Australia, and walked in Jean Paul Gaultier's Haute Couture spring/summer 2020 show. In 2024, she walked for Maison Yoshiki Paris at Paris Fashion Week.

Her acting debut came with a guest role as Rachel Wallace on the Fox series Star. She made her feature-film debut as Nelly in Gringo in 2018, then appeared as Becky in Scream, Cory in The Space Between, Jesus in Habit, Danica McCollum in Sex Appeal and Maya in American Horror Stories. Her later credits include Hailey in Swarm, Vanessa in Doctor Odyssey and Darla in One Spoon of Chocolate.

Paris also appeared in music videos for artists including Thirty Seconds to Mars and the xx. Her modeling and acting work has been part of a broader effort to use her public platform for causes she supports.

The Soundflowers and solo music

In 2018, Paris formed the musical duo The Soundflowers with musician Gabriel Glenn. She sings and plays ukulele, while Glenn sings and plays acoustic guitar. The duo performed its first gig at Canyon Sessions in June 2018 and released the self-titled EP The Soundflowers in 2020.

After The Soundflowers ended, Paris signed with Republic Records and began a solo career. Her debut single, "Let Down," was released in October 2020, followed by the album Wilted in November. The album was produced by Andy Hull and introduced an alternative-influenced sound.

Paris released The Lost EP in 2022, featuring "Lost," "Breathe Again" and "Never Going Back." She later issued singles including "Lighthouse" and "Just You," with "Lighthouse" drawing on 1990s grunge-rock and paying homage to Nirvana and Kurt Cobain. "Notes on a Ghost," performed with Glenn, won Best Music at the 2021 Top Indie Film Awards.

Activism and public advocacy

Paris is an ambassador for the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation and the Heal Los Angeles Foundation. She has said that modeling and acting allow her to expand her platform and draw attention to activism involving human rights, civil rights, animals and the environment.

She joined demonstrations supporting Black Lives Matter after George Floyd's murder in 2020. In 2018, she left a Dior runway show because she was concerned about the treatment of horses used in the presentation.

Paris has also spoken publicly about her identity and has said that she considers herself Black and was immersed in African-American culture by her father. She has declined to apply a fixed label to her sexuality.
