Rodtang Jitmuangnon

Rodtang has been married to fellow Muay Thai fighter Aida Looksaikongdin since February 2023. Aida comes from a Muay Thai family whose members are involved in running a boxing gym and working in the sport. Rodtang briefly became a Buddhist monk before the wedding and later announced that he had converted to Islam, Aida's religion.

Before his marriage, Rodtang was in a relationship with Stamp Fairtex, a former ONE Atomweight Muay Thai and Kickboxing World Champion. Rodtang and Stamp met in Japan and later ended their relationship amicably.

Rodtang began training in Muay Thai at seven and entered his first fight at eight to earn money and help his family. He grew up in Phatthalung Province in a large family and was the eighth of ten children. His parents worked a variety of jobs to support the household, including construction, rubber harvesting, serving and fishing.

At 14, Rodtang moved to Bangkok to join the Jitmuangnon Gym, where he developed as a full-time fighter. He had accumulated more than 250 wins before turning 21. His early accomplishments included winning the 2016 MAX Muay Thai 125-pound championship and the 2017 Omnoi Stadium 130-pound title, which he successfully defended in 2018. He was also recognized as the youngest champion at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in 2018.

Rodtang built his reputation in Thailand's major stadiums before establishing himself internationally. In 2017 and 2018, he recorded a ten-fight winning streak in the stadium circuit. His fight with Chorfah Tor.Sangtiennoi was later named Rajadamnern Stadium's 2018 Fight of the Year, while his 2019 rematch with Saeksan Or. Kwanmuang received the stadium's Fight of the Year award.

He also competed under kickboxing rules, including a notable 2018 meeting with Tenshin Nasukawa at RISE 125. The first five rounds ended in a draw, but Nasukawa won the extra round by decision. Rodtang later competed in kickboxing bouts in ONE Championship, including victories over Tagir Khalilov, Jiduo Yibu and Denis Purić.

Rodtang made his ONE Championship debut against Sergio Wielzen in September 2018 and won by unanimous decision. On August 2, 2019, he defeated Jonathan Haggerty by unanimous decision to win the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Championship. He defended the belt against Walter Goncalves before meeting Haggerty again in January 2020.

In the rematch, Rodtang knocked Haggerty down four times and stopped him by third-round TKO. He went on to defend the championship against Petchdam Petchyindee Academy, Joseph Lasiri and other challengers. His victory over Edgar Tabares in May 2023, completed by a second-round elbow knockout, was recorded as his fifth successful defense. ONE Championship described his reign as lasting five years, before he was stripped of the title in November 2024 after missing weight for his fight with Jacob Smith. Rodtang won that bout by unanimous decision, leaving the title vacant.

Rodtang faced former UFC Flyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson at ONE: X in Singapore on March 26, 2022. The contest alternated between Muay Thai and MMA rules, with the first and third rounds using Muay Thai rules and the second and fourth rounds using MMA rules.

Rodtang won the opening round but was submitted by Johnson with a rear-naked choke in the second round. The bout was Rodtang's first recorded contest under the special mixed-rules format and gave him a prominent crossover fight against an elite MMA champion.

Rodtang met Takeru Segawa in a kickboxing superfight at ONE 172 in Saitama, Japan, on March 23, 2025. He won by knockout with a lead left hook one minute and 20 seconds into the first round.

The victory over Takeru was one of Rodtang's most prominent kickboxing wins and earned him a Performance of the Night bonus award. It followed earlier withdrawals from scheduled bouts against Takeru in 2024 and Superlek Kiatmuu9 in 2023 because of injury.
