Jaryd Russell Lazar was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and is of half-Hungarian heritage. Long before streaming professionally, he developed an interest in tactical shooters, often diagramming map strategies on paper for games like Counter-Strike during high school to coordinate tactics with friends.

Prior to pursuing content creation as a full-time career, Lazar worked as a customer service call representative for Time Warner Cable. He entered competitive gaming as a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player, competing on ESEA Invite rosters and playing against professional competitors in the FACEIT Pro League (FPL).

Lazar began livestreaming regularly in the early 2010s, initially focusing on Counter-Strike before experiencing substantial audience growth following the release of WarZ (later known as Infestation: Survivor Stories). Over time, he broadened his broadcasts to include a wide variety of titles, such as H1Z1, DayZ, Arma 2, Arma 3, Sea of Thieves, Grand Theft Auto V, and Escape from Tarkov.

His channel rapidly expanded to rank among the largest on Twitch. In 2017, Lazar surpassed Syndicate in total followers, and in 2018 his channel overtook Riot Games to become the most-followed channel on the entire platform. In May 2020, he reinforced his presence on the platform by signing an exclusive multi-year contract with Twitch alongside creators such as Dakotaz and JoshOG.

Beyond general gameplay broadcasts, Lazar has engaged in speedrunning and special events. In July 2021, he set a world record in the "Hardcore" speedrun category of Max Payne 3 during a live stream. In 2023, martial arts organization ONE Championship invited him and fellow streamer EsfandTV to co-stream their debut mixed martial arts event held in the United States.
