Ross Lynch

Ross Shor Lynch was raised in Littleton, Colorado, and moved with his family to Los Angeles in 2007. He was homeschooled from the fourth grade, around the time he began learning to sing and play guitar and piano.

Lynch developed additional musical skills on bass and drums and has also played the ukulele. He danced with the Rage Boyz Crew and appeared on So You Think You Can Dance before establishing himself as an actor and recording artist.

Lynch was cast as Austin Moon in the Disney Channel sitcom Austin & Ally in early 2011. The series premiered in December of that year and ran for four seasons, ending in 2016. Austin is a teenage singer who becomes an overnight sensation after a performance video is uploaded to the internet, and the character later forms a partnership with Ally, played by Laura Marano.

The role made Lynch a prominent Disney Channel performer and earned him multiple Kids' Choice Awards and Teen Choice Awards. He reprised Austin Moon in crossover appearances on Jessie and Girl Meets World, including an appearance with Marano on the latter series.

Lynch played Brady in Teen Beach Movie, which premiered in 2013, and returned for Teen Beach 2 in 2015. The films combined musical performances with a story about teenagers entering the world of a fictional beach musical. Lynch also made a cameo in Muppets Most Wanted and voiced Piers in the English-language version of the animated film Snowtime!.

His feature-film work included Kyle Moore in Status Update and teenage Jeffrey Dahmer in My Friend Dahmer. The latter was adapted from Derf Backderf's graphic novel and premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2017. Lynch also performed as Mark Anthony in the Hollywood Bowl production of A Chorus Line in 2016.

From 2018 to 2020, he played Harvey Kinkle in Netflix's Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. In the series, Lynch worked alongside fellow cast member Jaz Sinclair. He was later cast in the Netflix mystery thriller Heartland, directed by Shana Feste.

Lynch released his debut single, "A Billion Hits," in 2012, followed by "Heard It on the Radio." He recorded extensively for Austin & Ally, performing all 14 songs on the show's first soundtrack. That album reached number 27 on the Billboard 200 and topped the publication's soundtrack and kids' album charts.

He also contributed songs to the Teen Beach Movie and Teen Beach 2 soundtracks. The first Teen Beach Movie soundtrack was one of the best-selling film soundtracks in the United States in 2013, while the sequel's soundtrack reached the top 10 of the Billboard 200. In 2016, Lynch contributed vocals to Tritonal's "I Feel the Love."

Lynch was a lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist in R5, the band formed with his siblings Riker, Rocky, and Rydel Lynch and drummer Ellington Ratliff. The group self-released the EP Ready Set Rock in 2010 before signing with Hollywood Records in 2012.

R5 released the EP Loud in 2013, followed by the albums Louder and Sometime Last Night. Sometime Last Night debuted at number six on the Billboard 200 and topped the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart. R5's final EP, New Addictions, was released in 2017.

In 2018, Lynch and Rocky Lynch began The Driver Era, a project that gave the brothers control over the musical direction. The duo released the single "Preacher Man" and later issued the album X in 2019. Their subsequent releases included "Rumors," "Get Off My Phone," "You Keep Me Up at Night," and the album Obsession.
