Vasana Montgomery
Vasana Montgomery founded the Oregon salon Vanity Square Studios and built an online following reviewing local restaurants. In May 2026, Peacock named her to the cast of Love Island USA Season 8. She never made it to the villa. The network dropped her days before the premiere after resurfaced videos showed her using a racial slur.
Beauty business and online content
Montgomery studied skincare and cosmetic treatments at Spectrum Advanced Esthetics, graduating in 2019 on the honor roll. She then completed tattoo school to broaden her technical offerings.
In 2020, Montgomery established Vanity Square Studios in Salem, Oregon. The salon provides permanent makeup, lash extensions, facials, bridal styling, and tattoos, alongside lash technician training. In 2025, the business won the Best of the Willamette Valley award.
Outside the salon, Montgomery created content under the handle @vasanaeats on TikTok. She used the account to review regional restaurants and share recommendations with food enthusiasts.
Casting and removal from Love Island USA
On May 28, 2026, Peacock announced Montgomery as one of twelve initial cast members for Love Island USA Season 8. In her promotional clip, she called herself the "whole package" and highlighted her independence as a salon owner.
Two days after the announcement, private video clips of Montgomery using the N-word circulated across social media. One clip showed her repeating the word while singing along to music, while another showed her using it during a trip to an arcade. The footage had not surfaced during pre-production background checks because it came from private accounts.
Peacock removed Montgomery from the lineup on May 31, 2026, two days before the season premiere in Fiji. Following her removal, she posted a statement on Instagram Stories admitting to the behavior, issuing an apology without excuses, and taking accountability for the language she used.
