Romy Mars

Romy Mars, whose birth name is Romy Madison Croquet, is the oldest daughter of Sofia Coppola and Thomas Mars. Her younger sister is Cosima Mars. She is part of the Coppola family, which includes her grandfather Francis Ford Coppola.

Mars was raised out of the public eye. Her parents also discouraged her from having a public social-media account, a subject she addressed humorously in a viral TikTok video.

Mars began writing music when she was 12. She released her debut pop singles, "Stuck Up" and "From a Distance," on May 22, 2024, with both songs appearing on the Stuck Up EP.

The two tracks combine breezy pop production with coming-of-age themes and nostalgic early-2000s influences. Claud produced "From a Distance," while Mikey Hart and Claud worked on the release. Mars followed the EP with the single "A-Lister" in 2025, and its music video was directed by Sofia Coppola. Her later releases include the single "Ego."

Mars made her first modeling appearance for Marc Jacobs in 2020. She later appeared as a reporter in Megalopolis, directed by her grandfather Francis Ford Coppola. The film premiered at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival.

In 2024, she played the student Kayla in the FX comedy series English Teacher. Her screen credits also include a small appearance in Sofia Coppola's film On the Rocks.

Mars attracted widespread attention in 2023 with a TikTok video in which she attempted to make pasta while explaining that she had been grounded. She said she had tried to use her father's credit card to charter a helicopter from New York to Maryland so she could have dinner with a friend from camp.

She later posted a TikTok questioning why UC Berkeley had invited her to speak, comparing the invitation with previous speakers associated with the university. She joked that she had no advice to offer because she had been born into the entertainment industry.

Mars was attending Lehigh University in the fall of 2025.
