Willow Avalon

Willow Avalon was raised in Carlton, Georgia, in a musical family. Her father, musician Jim White, wrote the song "Bluebird" about her, and she grew up influenced by country and gospel music. She learned piano and guitar by the age of 12 and began writing original songs during her teens.

Avalon moved out and left high school in 2015 at age 16. She moved from Georgia to Los Angeles in 2016, pursuing music while developing the personal and Southern-rooted perspective that later shaped her songwriting.

Avalon released her first original song, "Your Not Mine", on YouTube in 2012. That year, she performed on the kids' stage at Athfest after winning Monsignor Donovan Catholic High School's Ram Jam battle of the bands competition, and she opened for the Drive-By Truckers at the 40 Watt Club. Her first record deal later fell through, and she worked to leave the contract so she could release music independently.

She self-published "Drivin" in 2021. The song, which she wrote at 16, became an early breakthrough, bringing millions of streams, a growing fan base and attention from music blogs and record companies. She signed with Atlantic Records and Assemble Sound in 2023, and the label released her debut EP, Stranger, on February 29, 2024. The EP was recorded at Electric Lady Studios in Greenwich Village, New York City, with close friends and collaborators.

Avalon's songwriting is personal and emotionally direct. She has described music as a form of therapy and writes about experiences, mistakes and emotional conflict in her life. Her sound moves between country, Americana, folk, pop and alternative music, while retaining strong connections to her Georgia roots.

In 2025, "Tequila or Whiskey" and "Homewrecker" gained viral attention on TikTok. Avalon released her first full-length album, Southern Belle Raisin' Hell, on January 17, 2025, and performed "Homewrecker" on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. She began her first headline tour in Philadelphia on January 30, 2025, with dates later expanded to the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Southern Belle Raisin' Hell contains fourteen tracks that combine hard-edged storytelling, swagger and vulnerability. The album's classic country foundation is paired with a modern roots approach and a distinctive vocal style. Its songs include "Homewrecker", "Tequila or Whiskey", "Gettin' Rich, Goin' Broke" and "Something We Regret".

Avalon used a mugshot from a previous arrest as the album's cover. The record's reception helped position her as a rising contemporary country artist, and The Tennessean named her one of its Top Artists to Watch in 2025.

Her second studio album, Pink Pocket Pistol, was released on June 26, 2026. Its associated material includes "Easy on the Eyes" and "Cardinal Sin", the latter featuring Jason Isbell.
