Lil Mosey

Lil Mosey was raised in the Seattle suburb of Mountlake Terrace. His older brother Quinnell introduced him to hip-hop when he was nine, and he developed an interest in artists including 50 Cent, Nas, Meek Mill, Joey Bada$$, Iamsu! and Soulja Boy. He began rapping in his early teens and pursued music actively by the eighth grade.

He attended Mountlake Terrace High School before transferring to Shorecrest High School in the tenth grade. After the success of "Pull Up," he left school to focus on music and moved to Los Angeles to record. His influences include Meek Mill, whose song "Dreams and Nightmares" he identified as a favorite.

"Pull Up," released in 2017, was Lil Mosey's first commercial single. He made the song with producer Royce David after finding a beat by Black Mayo, and he recalled completing the song in about 15 minutes during a studio session. Its music video quickly gained attention online, while the single later received gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America.

In 2018, Lil Mosey released "Boof Pack" and then "Noticed," whose video was directed by Cole Bennett. "Noticed" became his first entry on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 80, and helped establish his melodic rap style. He was also included on the 2019 XXL Freshman List.

Lil Mosey's debut studio album, Northsbest, was released in 2018 and included "Pull Up," "Boof Pack" and "Noticed." His second studio album, Certified Hitmaker, followed in 2019 and reached number 12 on the Billboard 200. The album included "Stuck in a Dream," featuring Gunna, as well as collaborations connected with artists such as Chris Brown.

In 2020, "Blueberry Faygo" became Lil Mosey's biggest commercial hit. The song gained attention after an unauthorized leak and later spread widely on social media before its official release. It reached number eight on the Billboard Hot 100 and appeared on the reissue of Certified Hitmaker. Other 2020 releases included "Back at It," featuring Lil Baby, and "Top Gone," featuring Lunay.

Lil Mosey continued releasing singles and collaborations in the early 2020s, including "Holy Water," "Enough," "Jetski," "Flu Game" and "Life Goes On." His featured appearances included songs with MAX, SUGA, Olivia O'Brien, Rich the Kid and Smokepurpp. He released the extended play Love U Forever in 2024.

In 2020, he founded the record label Certified Hitmakers. Jae Lynx was the label's first signee and released "Bad Girl Vibes" under the imprint in November 2020. Lil Mosey has described his music as melodic and rejected the label "mumble rapper," while noting that listeners have compared his music with Drake's.
