Andy Dalton

Dalton is a Christian who married his longtime girlfriend, Jordan Jones, on July 9, 2011. The couple met while attending Texas Christian University. They have three children: two sons, Noah and Nash, and a daughter, Finley.

Together, the couple established the Andy & Jordan Dalton Foundation to provide support and resources to children and families in need. The organization received widespread national attention at the conclusion of the 2017 NFL regular season. After Dalton threw a game-winning touchdown pass that eliminated the Baltimore Ravens and secured the Buffalo Bills their first playoff appearance in 17 years, thousands of grateful Bills supporters contributed to the foundation. More than 16,000 donors contributed over $360,000, frequently giving in $17 increments to honor the end of the 17-year drought. In response, the Daltons leased billboards in the Buffalo area expressing their gratitude.

Dalton played college football for the TCU Horned Frogs from 2006 to 2010 under head coach Gary Patterson. After redshirting his first year, he earned the starting job in 2007 and was named the MVP of the 2007 Texas Bowl and the 2008 Poinsettia Bowl. Over his final three seasons, he compiled a 34-3 record as a starter.

During the 2009 season, Dalton guided TCU to an undefeated 12-0 regular season, a Mountain West Conference title, and a berth in the Fiesta Bowl. In his 2010 senior campaign, he led the Horned Frogs to a perfect 13-0 record, culminating in a 21-19 victory over Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl. Dalton earned Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year honors in both 2009 and 2010, finished ninth in Heisman Trophy voting in 2010, and graduated with 42 career wins, setting a school record.

The Cincinnati Bengals selected Dalton in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft with the 35th overall pick. Named the starter as a rookie, he established an immediate connection with rookie wide receiver A. J. Green. Dalton became the first quarterback in NFL history not selected in the first round to start all 16 games of his rookie season, guiding Cincinnati to a 9-7 record and a playoff berth while earning an invitation to the Pro Bowl.

Dalton led the Bengals to the postseason in each of his first five seasons from 2011 to 2015, capturing AFC North division titles in 2013 and 2015. In 2013, he set franchise single-season records with 4,293 passing yards and 34 touchdown passes. His 2015 campaign was among his most efficient, finishing with 25 passing touchdowns against only seven interceptions and a 106.2 passer rating before a fractured thumb sidelined him late in the year. He earned a third Pro Bowl selection in 2016. Across nine seasons in Cincinnati, Dalton recorded 31,594 passing yards and 204 passing touchdowns before being released in April 2020.

Dalton signed with the Dallas Cowboys in May 2020 to serve as the primary backup to Dak Prescott. After Prescott suffered a season-ending injury in Week 5, Dalton started nine games, throwing for 2,169 yards and 14 touchdowns. In 2021, he joined the Chicago Bears, making six starts and appearing in eight contests.

In March 2022, Dalton joined the New Orleans Saints. After taking over starting duties in Week 4, he remained the starter for the rest of the year, completing 66.7 percent of his passes for 2,871 yards and 18 touchdowns across 14 games. He signed with the Carolina Panthers in March 2023, where he served as a veteran mentor and spot starter behind Bryce Young across three seasons. In March 2026, Dalton was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles.
