Brooks Koepka

Koepka was raised in Florida alongside his younger brother, Chase Koepka, who is also a professional golfer. The two brothers competed as a team during the 2019 Zurich Classic of New Orleans on the PGA Tour, and they later played together on the Smash GC team during their time in LIV Golf. Athletic talent runs in his family, as his great-uncle Dick Groat was a Major League Baseball shortstop who won two World Series championships and the 1960 National League Most Valuable Player Award.

Koepka announced his engagement to actress Jena Sims in April 2021, and the couple married on June 4, 2022, in the Turks and Caicos. They welcomed their first child, a son named Crew, in 2023. Away from competitive golf, his personal interests include fishing, paddleboarding, and jet skiing.

Koepka attended Cardinal Newman High School in West Palm Beach before enrolling at Florida State University. Competing for the Florida State Seminoles men's golf team, he won three collegiate events and earned three All-American honors. He qualified for his first major championship as an amateur at the 2012 U.S. Open.

After turning professional in the summer of 2012, Koepka began his career in Europe on the Challenge Tour. He earned his first professional title at the 2012 Challenge de Catalunya. In 2013, he claimed three victories on the circuit, including a record-setting 10-stroke win at the Fred Olsen Challenge de España, which earned him automatic promotion to the European Tour. In 2014, Koepka won the Turkish Airlines Open and was awarded the Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year honor.

Koepka secured his first PGA Tour victory at the Waste Management Phoenix Open in February 2015. His breakthrough in major championships arrived at the 2017 U.S. Open at Erin Hills, where his winning score of 16 under par tied the tournament record. The following year, he successfully defended his crown at Shinnecock Hills, becoming the first player since Curtis Strange in 1989 to win consecutive U.S. Open titles.

His dominant run continued with a victory at the 2018 PGA Championship at Bellerive Country Club, making him only the fifth player in history to win both the U.S. Open and the PGA Championship in the same calendar year. Following a win at the CJ Cup in October 2018, Koepka climbed to number one in the Official World Golf Ranking. He successfully defended his PGA Championship title in 2019 at Bethpage Black, cementing his status as the first player to hold back-to-back titles in two different major championships concurrently. Throughout his major success, Ricky Elliott has served as his regular caddie.

In June 2022, Koepka joined the LIV Golf Invitational Series and earned his first title on the circuit at the LIV Golf Invitational Jeddah later that year. He went on to secure five tournament victories in the league, including consecutive titles in Jeddah, as well as wins in Orlando, Singapore, and Greenbrier. In May 2023, Koepka won his fifth career major at the PGA Championship at Oak Hill Country Club, becoming the first active LIV Golf player to win a major title.

Koepka departed LIV Golf in late 2025 to spend more time closer to home with his family. He finalized his return to the PGA Tour in January 2026, making his first start in a regular tour event at the Farmers Insurance Open.
