Charlie Woods

Charlie Axel Woods was born on February 8, 2009, in Orlando, Florida, to 15-time major champion Tiger Woods and Swedish model Elin Nordegren. He has an older sister named Sam Alexis Woods. He was named in honor of Charlie Sifford, the pioneering African-American professional golfer whom Tiger Woods considered a mentor and grandfather figure.

During his childhood, Woods played soccer before shifting his primary athletic focus toward golf during the COVID-19 pandemic, when team sports were restricted. His father has coached him and periodically served as his caddie during junior competitions, including the 2023 Notah Begay III Junior Golf National Championship.

Woods made his high-profile competitive debut at the 2020 PNC Championship at age 11, becoming the youngest player in the history of the tournament.

The duo returned to the PNC Championship in subsequent years, earning runner-up finishes in both 2021 and 2024, along with top-ten finishes in 2022 and 2023. During the final round of the 2021 tournament, Charlie and Tiger set a tournament record by carding 11 consecutive birdies. In the 2023 and 2024 editions, his sister Sam joined the team as their caddie, and Charlie recorded a hole-in-one during the 2024 event.

Competing on the junior golf circuit, Woods captured the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour Major Championship in June 2023 by eight strokes in the 14-15 age category. Later that year, in September 2023, he won the 14-15 division of the Last Chance Regional after shooting a career-low round of six-under-par 66. While attending The Benjamin School in North Palm Beach, Florida, he contributed to the team victory at the Florida High School Athletic Association Class A state championship in November 2023, placing tied for 26th individually.

In early 2024, Woods entered a PGA Tour pre-qualifying event for the Cognizant Classic. In July 2024, he won a qualifying tournament with a round of 71 to earn a spot in the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship. He went on to secure his first American Junior Golf Association title by winning the Team TaylorMade Invitational in May 2025, and later finished tied for ninth place at the Junior PGA Championship in August 2025.

In February 2026, Woods announced his commitment to play collegiate golf for Florida State University, joining the Florida State Seminoles men's golf program.
