Demetrius Flenory, also known as Demetrius Flenory Jr., Little Meech, and Lil' Meech, is an American actor and rapper from Detroit, Michigan. He became widely known for portraying his father, Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory, in the Starz series BMF. He also records hip-hop music and appeared as Travis in HBO’s Euphoria.

Early life

Demetrius Flenory Jr. was born in Detroit, Michigan, in 2000. He is the son of Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory, a co-founder and leader of the Black Mafia Family, and grew up with his father’s incarceration shaping his family life.

Flenory adopted the stage name Lil' Meech as a tribute to his father, who is also known as Big Meech. Before beginning his acting career, he studied business at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Career

Flenory began releasing music under the name Lil' Meech in 2019. He self-released his debut song, “Bad Habits,” whose music video included a recording of his father speaking from jail. His musical work is associated with hip hop, and he has also released videos including “Paranoid.”

His first acting role was in BMF, and he later appeared in the film Taurus as Syl. He also provided the voice of Quan in Good Times: Black Again.

2021-present: Black Mafia Family and Euphoria

Flenory’s breakthrough came with Black Mafia Family, the Starz crime drama based on the story of his father and his uncle, Terry “Southwest T” Flenory. He played Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory Sr. in the series, making his acting debut by portraying his own father. His performance received positive critical attention, and he earned a main role on the show.

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson helped bring Flenory into the production and arranged for him to move to Los Angeles and study acting. Flenory trained intensively for two years, taking acting lessons five days a week and sometimes twice a day. Jackson and BMF creator Randy Huggins remained involved in the development of the series, while Flenory’s father communicated with his son during the production process.

In 2022, Flenory joined the second season of HBO’s Euphoria as Travis, a DJ and producer. He has described the series as meaningful because of its focus on real-world subjects and its connection to contemporary culture.
