EST Gee

EST Gee's mother died from leukemia in March 2020, and his brother died in a Louisville shooting about a week later. The losses became recurring subjects in his music, including the song "Undefeated" from his 2023 album Mad.

In September 2019, EST Gee was shot five times after a music-video shoot for "Taught Different." He was struck four times in the stomach and once in the left eye, while his brother was shot in the leg. EST Gee was discharged after two weeks and retained most of the vision in his injured eye.

Born George Albert Stone III, EST Gee was raised in Louisville's Clarksdale Projects before moving to Tubman Court and Ellington Avenue in the southeastern part of the city. He graduated from St. Xavier High School in 2012 and received a football scholarship to Indiana State University, where he majored in communications.

Stone later transferred to Sac City College and then Stephen F. Austin University before leaving college in 2016. He was briefly part of the Canadian Football League's Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2017. That same year, a drug-trafficking case resulted in a sentence of four months of house arrest.

While under house arrest, he became more focused on rap after watching Lil Baby perform on television. He first used the name Big Gee, releasing his debut song, "Stains," on YouTube in December 2017. He later adopted the professional name EST Gee and built a local audience through regular online releases.

EST Gee released the mixtapes El Toro and Die Bloody in 2019. His 2020 projects Ion Feel Nun and I Still Don't Feel Nun brought him wider attention, with I Still Don't Feel Nun featuring artists including Kevin Gates, Moneybagg Yo and Jack Harlow. His music combines trap with elements associated with Southern hip-hop, Chicago drill and Baton Rouge lyricism, while often presenting street life through a grim and reflective perspective rather than as an uncomplicated fantasy.

In January 2021, EST Gee signed with Yo Gotti's Collective Music Group, an imprint of Interscope Records operating in a joint venture with Warlike. He appeared on Lil Baby's single "Real as It Gets," his first Billboard Hot 100 entry, which peaked at number 34.

His fifth mixtape, Bigger Than Life or Death, was released on July 21, 2021, and reached number seven on the Billboard 200. The project included "Lick Back" and "5500 Degrees," the latter featuring Lil Baby, 42 Dugg and Rylo Rodriguez, as well as guest appearances from Future, Young Thug, Pooh Shiesty and Lil Durk. Its deluxe follow-up, Bigger Than Life or Death, Pt. 2, arrived in December 2021.

EST Gee released Last Ones Left, a collaborative mixtape with 42 Dugg, in 2022. His debut studio album, I Never Felt Nun, followed that September and peaked at number eight on the Billboard 200. He later released Mad in 2023 and I Aint Feeling You in 2025.
