George Henry Davidson was born on 1 November 1996 in London, England, where he grew up alongside his sister. He attended the University of Leeds, graduating with a degree in computer science, and briefly worked as an office assistant before transitioning into digital media and streaming.

Davidson has severe protanopia, a form of red-green color blindness that affects his ability to distinguish certain colors, as well as aphantasia. In September 2022, he announced that his application for a United States visa had been approved, leading to his relocation to Orlando, Florida, to live and work with long-time collaborators Dream and Sapnap.

Davidson first created a YouTube channel in 2013 under the name GeorgeeeHDPlays before establishing his primary channel, GeorgeNotFound, which began regular uploads in 2019. The channel's name was inspired by an HTTP 404 error page encountered by Dream while brainstorming names. Davidson and Dream originally met online in 2016 as staff members on the MunchyMC server. When Dream began his Minecraft Manhunt series, Davidson served as the original hunter and appeared throughout the series.

In April 2020, Davidson and Dream co-founded the Dream SMP, a Minecraft survival multiplayer server that expanded into a major collaborative storytelling platform featuring numerous prominent creators. On his personal channel, Davidson gained substantial viewership with challenge-based Minecraft videos, notably a September 2020 upload in which he tried color-correcting glasses for the first time.

Davidson established a massive following on Twitch, streaming regular gameplay, challenge runs, and special community events. In March 2021, he achieved a Guinness World Record for the highest concurrent viewership on a cooking live stream during his Big Cooking Stream, reaching a peak of 319,846 viewers. Later that year, his Epic Hot Tub Stream attracted nearly 400,000 concurrent viewers, and he earned a nomination for Livestreamer at the 11th Streamy Awards.

Beyond solo streaming, Davidson became a regular competitor in the MC Championship tournament series organized by Noxcrew. He secured back-to-back tournament victories at MCC 11 with the Fuchsia Frankensteins and MCC 12 with the Green Guardians, later claiming another victory in the MCC All Stars event. In September 2022, he played for YouTube Allstars wearing number 404 in the 2022 Sidemen Charity Match. In August 2022, he joined Karl Jacobs and Sapnap as a co-host on the Banter podcast.
