Ivanka Trump

Ivanka Trump is married to real-estate developer Jared Kushner, whom she married in a Jewish ceremony on October 25, 2009. They have three children: Arabella Rose, Joseph Frederick, and Theodore James Kushner.

She converted from Presbyterianism to Orthodox Judaism before her marriage and adopted the Hebrew name Yael. She and Kushner maintain a kosher home and observe the Jewish Sabbath. Ivanka is the daughter of Donald Trump and Ivana Trump, and has two full brothers, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, as well as half-siblings Tiffany Trump and Barron Trump.

Raised in Manhattan, Trump attended the Chapin School and Choate Rosemary Hall. She began modeling as a teenager, signing with Elite Model Management and appearing in print campaigns and runway shows. In May 1997, she appeared on the cover of Seventeen and cohosted the Miss Teen USA pageant that year.

Trump attended Georgetown University before transferring to the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School, where she graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in economics in 2004. After briefly working for Forest City Enterprises, she joined the Trump Organization in 2005 as executive vice president of development and acquisitions.

At the Trump Organization, she worked on real-estate projects including the redevelopment of Washington, D.C.'s historic Old Post Office into a hotel and mixed-use property. She also helped develop the Doral resort in Miami. In 2007, she launched Ivanka Trump Fine Jewelry and later expanded into clothing, footwear, handbags, accessories, and fragrance. She closed the fashion brand in 2018 after stepping away from day-to-day management to focus on public policy.

Trump became a television personality through her appearances on her father's reality series The Apprentice. She first appeared as a judge in 2006, became a regular boardroom judge the following season, and continued on the program and its Celebrity Apprentice spinoff through 2015. She also served as a guest judge on Project Runway and appeared with Jared Kushner as herself in an episode of Gossip Girl in 2010.

Her first book, The Trump Card: Playing to Win in Work and Life, was published in 2009 and became a New York Times bestseller. She published Women Who Work: Rewriting the Rules for Success in 2017. The book focused on women in business and included contributions from leadership and business experts.

Trump became an active supporter of Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign and introduced him at the Republican National Convention. Her speech emphasized equal pay, child care, and her father's stated support for women in the workplace. She also appeared in campaign advertising and at events during the Republican primary and general election campaign.

After Donald Trump took office, she left the Trump Organization and became an official White House employee in March 2017 with the title adviser to the president. She also led the Office of Economic Initiatives and Entrepreneurship. Her policy portfolio included women's economic empowerment, child care, paid family leave, worker training, and human trafficking prevention.

Trump represented the administration at international events including the W20 women's summit, the G20 Summit in Osaka, and the closing ceremony of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics. In 2019, she promoted the Women's Global Development and Prosperity Initiative, which sought to expand women's access to training, capital, and economic opportunities. She also accompanied her father to the Korean Demilitarized Zone and participated in diplomatic and economic events abroad.

Trump remained in the White House after Donald Trump lost the 2020 election to Joe Biden. During the January 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol, she encouraged her father to make a public statement condemning the violence. She left the White House when the administration ended on January 20, 2021.

In 2022, Trump testified before the House Select Committee investigating the January 6 attack. She said that she accepted former Attorney General William Barr's conclusion that claims of widespread voter fraud had no basis and that she did not believe the election had been stolen. She also testified in the New York investigation into the Trump Organization's business practices.

After leaving government, Trump returned her attention to business and other public projects. In 2021, she and Kushner founded the Abraham Accords Caucus, which focused on strengthening economic ties between Israel and Middle Eastern states. She also participated in food and medical aid initiatives, including programs supporting families in Ukraine.
