Joe Jonas is an American singer and actor known for fronting the Jonas Brothers and playing Shane Gray in Camp Rock. He has also pursued solo music, led the band DNCE, and appeared as a coach on The Voice Australia.
Personal life
Joe Jonas was married to English actress Sophie Turner from 2019 to 2024. They held wedding ceremonies in Las Vegas on May 1, 2019, and in Paris on June 29, 2019.
Jonas and Turner have two daughters, Willa and Delphine. Jonas filed for divorce in September 2023, and the divorce was finalized in September 2024. In April 2026, he announced a relationship with Puerto Rican model Tatiana Gabriela.
Breakthrough with the Jonas Brothers
Jonas formed the Jonas Brothers with his brothers Kevin and Nick. In 2005, the three recorded "Please Be Mine," which led Columbia Records president Steve Greenberg to sign them as a group. Their first album, It's About Time, followed in 2006, and the band moved to Hollywood Records after leaving Columbia.
The Jonas Brothers achieved their breakthrough with their self-titled 2007 album. Their Disney Channel appearance on Hannah Montana, where they performed "We Got the Party" with Miley Cyrus, drew more than ten million viewers. The group became closely associated with Disney through Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream, Camp Rock, and Jonas.
The band's 2008 album A Little Bit Longer debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart, while its single "Burnin' Up" became a top-five hit. Jonas and his brothers also starred in Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience and the television series Jonas, which later continued as Jonas L.A.
Acting roles and solo album
Jonas made his film debut as Shane Gray in the Disney Channel musical film Camp Rock in 2008. He returned to the role in Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam in 2010. For the first film's soundtrack, he recorded the duet "This Is Me," which became a top-ten hit on the Billboard Hot 100.
His other screen work during this period included guest appearances on Hot in Cleveland, a cameo in Vampire Weekend's "Giving Up the Gun" music video, and a guest-judge role on American Idol. He also appeared in The Righteous Gemstones, Dash & Lily, and the 2022 war film Devotion, in which he played Marty Goode.
After the Jonas Brothers entered a hiatus, Jonas released his debut solo album, Fastlife, in 2011. The album included the singles "See No More" and "Just in Love." He also co-wrote the song "Dreams" for John Legend's 2013 album Love in the Future.
DNCE, reunions, and later music
Following the Jonas Brothers' 2013 breakup, Jonas formed DNCE with Jack Lawless, JinJoo Lee, and Cole Whittle. The group's debut single, "Cake by the Ocean," reached number nine on the Billboard Hot 100. DNCE released the Swaay extended play in 2015 and its self-titled studio album in 2016.
Jonas joined The Voice Australia as a coach in 2018 after serving as a mentor on the American version. He also collaborated with DJ Jonas Blue on "I See Love" for Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation and voiced a Kraken in the film.
The Jonas Brothers reunited in 2019 with the single "Sucker" and later released the album Happiness Begins. Their subsequent projects included the documentaries Chasing Happiness and Happiness Continues, followed by The Album in 2023. Jonas announced the return of DNCE in 2022 and released his second solo album, Music for People Who Believe in Love, in 2025.
