Karen Pittman

Karen Pittman is the mother of two children, Jake and Lena. She has discussed the challenges of raising them as a single mother.

In 2024, Pittman announced her engagement to Ade Richardson on Today with Jenna and Hoda. Her The Morning Show co-star Greta Lee and other cast and crew members celebrated the engagement with a party on the show's set.

Pittman has played Mia Jordan in the Apple TV+ drama series The Morning Show since 2019. The role brought her major recognition and earned her Screen Actors Guild Award nominations with the ensemble in 2022 and 2024.

Her performance in the show's third season earned nominations for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series and the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. From 2021 to 2023, she also starred as Dr. Nya Wallace in the HBO Max series And Just Like That....

Pittman first gained attention through theater, including her performance as Jory in the Lincoln Center production of Disgraced. She later played Liz Rico in the Off-Broadway production of King Liz and originated the role of Nya in the Lincoln Center production of Pipeline, which was broadcast on PBS in 2019. Her work in Disgraced was recognized with a Theatre World Award.

Before becoming a full-time actress, Pittman worked in finance. She studied voice and opera at Northwestern University and earned a Master of Fine Arts from New York University's Graduate Acting Program. Her early screen appearances included 30 Rock, Law & Order, The Good Wife, The Americans and Luke Cage, in which she played Priscilla Ridley.

Pittman's film credits include Last Night, The Bourne Legacy, Begin Again, The Rewrite, Custody and Detroit. In 2022, she played Allison in Unthinkably Good Things, her first leading film role.

She also played Sandy James in the crime drama What We Do Next and Sofia in the short film Toy Phone. Her television work has included roles in Yellowstone, Evil, Living with Yourself and NOS4A2.
