Kiyan Anthony is an American basketball player known for playing guard for the Syracuse Orange. The son of former NBA player Carmelo Anthony and television personality La La Anthony, he was named the 2025 Jordan Brand Classic MVP and Mr. New York Basketball.
Personal life
Kiyan Anthony is the son of Carmelo Anthony and La La Anthony. His father is a former NBA player, while his mother is a television personality, actress, and producer. He has a younger sister named Genesis Halo Anthony.
Anthony grew up in a family closely connected to basketball. His parents appeared with him on the VH1 reality series La La's Full Court Life, and he also appeared alongside his father in a 2016 Jordan sneaker commercial.
High school basketball and Team Melo
Anthony spent his freshman and sophomore seasons at Christ the King Regional High School in Queens, New York. He transferred to Long Island Lutheran before his junior season and played as a guard and forward. During the 2023-24 season, he averaged 10.3 points and 2.4 assists per game for Long Island Lutheran.
He also played for Team Melo on Nike's Elite Youth Basketball League circuit. During the AAU season, he averaged 19.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. At the NBPA Top 100 Camp, he averaged 28.5 points per game. His high school honors included selection to the EYBL Scholastic All-Tournament Team, MVP honors at the Throne National Championship Tournament, and the 2025 Mr. New York Basketball award.
Anthony was ranked among the leading shooting guards in the 2025 recruiting class. He received Division I offers from programs including Indiana, Michigan, Florida State, Illinois, Pittsburgh, Seton Hall, Memphis, and Tennessee. In November 2024, he announced his commitment to Syracuse, where his father had played college basketball.
Syracuse Orange career
Anthony began his college basketball career with Syracuse in 2025 and wears jersey number 7. In his collegiate debut, he recorded 15 points, three rebounds, and three assists against Binghamton. He made his first start against Delaware State and produced 19 points, three rebounds, and four assists, including eight made field goals on 11 attempts.
During the 2025-26 season, Anthony averaged 8.0 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 0.9 assists in 29 games, according to Proballers. Syracuse lists him as a guard and records a 2025-26 performance of 18 points against Drexel. He missed the final two games of the season with a lower-body injury.
Anthony also earned MVP honors at the 2025 Jordan Brand Classic after scoring 26 points for Team Air. At the Iverson Classic, he received the People's Choice Award after scoring 25 points in 21 minutes.
