Laterras Whitfield

Laterras Whitfield has a daughter named Latteria and two adopted sons, Ladarrion and Armani.

He was previously married. After the marriage ended, he publicly reflected on his conduct in the relationship, including his infidelity and the need to take personal accountability.

Whitfield created Dear Future Wifey after his divorce as a platform for discussing love, relationships, healing and intentional dating. The podcast's mission is summarized by the phrase “Living Intentionally and Transparently,” and he has described it as a way to help people confront relationship struggles openly.

Whitfield developed HomeBless Life after researching a play about homelessness and interviewing people living in a Dallas homeless encampment. He began by helping a homeless man named Alvin, providing him with a large tent, a camp stove, a chair and a bathroom setup.

The web series grew into a broader project centered on random acts of kindness and making members of the homeless community feel valued. One episode involved taking nearly 30 homeless women on dates that included makeovers, dinner and personal attention. Whitfield hoped the concept could eventually become a reality show on a major network.

Whitfield is a three-time Emmy-nominated filmmaker, playwright and director. His creative work includes storytelling projects focused on faith, relationships and community service.
